Thanks to Dane for posting this up in General.. turns out the news item I was part of is in this weeks Drive!
http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor-news/women-in-power-20101111-17oo8.html
so many pics taken and they choose this one :|
....For Bronwyn Holmes, any extra features on herMitsubishi Lancer GSR are there because she's put them there, not because they came with the car., like many others, she does much of the work on her car herself and is not afraid to tinker.''Something changes on it almost every week,'' she says. Sometimes it might be superficial like a sticker ; other times she will replace parts. A large part of the appeal of having a highperformance car is personalising it, she says. ''My mum likes to do it with the house; I like to do it with the car.''She has owned the Lancer for 11 years and has rebuilt the gearbox, the engine and everything else besides. She's changed the turbo manifold, the brakes, the suspension, the wheels and tyres and put different body panels and skirtings on it.From a demure four-door sedan, it now looks and drives like an Evo, Mitsubishi's version of the WRX STi. Holmes is now itching to take it to the track. She reckons it's faster than an Evo - and a WRX.''I'll find out for sure [at the track] next week.''
except im STILL WAITING TO GET MY 560'S IN AND THE TUNE !! sigh...

So you have a 4G93T with a HKS Suction kit fitted?
I had a look on the Meek website under GSR, but can't find anything?
I've also tried googling for one, but no joy there either?

Thanks Rob n Dave - Trying again for today :s
Yes 4G93T with an Evo 1-3 suction kit.. I just needed to buy another (longer) BOV hose as the outlet on the GSR Meek piping kit is not in the same place as Evo 1-3 so the supplied HKS BOV hose was too short.
HKS suction my favourite mod to date. Matching beautifully with 8MR BOV.
Meek are ordering in these HKS reloaded suction kits all the time. Another one going into a 2L conversion we're doing right now. More stock coming in soon as I am ordering it now!

I read earlier in this thread that you don't like dyno readouts much, but have you noticed an increase in power with the HKS suction kit installed?
Would you rate is as the best kw per $ mod you've done to the car?
Just wondering if it's worth doing this to my GSR, or if I should go the traditional E3 AFM / ECU / Injectors path first.
Cheers

I will eventually get to the dyno just for a lil power run
well that's the path i went. 609 AFM, Magna TB, Evo injectors, EPROM ECU mapped chip GSR Aus spec.
Everyone who has the HKS suction raves about it... it makes such a difference on the CC's. Power delivery is much smoother.. the car just breaths... that's what you want... all your correct piping kit, suction kit, exhaust and those little upgrades above and your laughing.. safe good reliable power FTW.

Cheers guys yeh 12.7 and 12.9 best runs @ 112.9mph so she gets up there for 11s... just got to get her off the line!
I have Evo 3 genuine clutch plate with exedy racing cover.. I cooked it on the first run when my shoe got stuck on the clutch pedal! Reeked for days! But still went 5 more runs! Spewing my first run was the best even with that fk up .. NEVER WEARING THOSE SHOES AGAIN.. gotta stick with what im used to.. made sure i changed nothing else as i didnt want to risk it but changed shoes to very thin ones from my air maxs FAIL!
anyway not bad for first time back - just not used to a clutch that rides, always raced on a brass button before..
Data logged the factory ECU with Meek chip - 20psi 100RON = ZERO knock count! so I'm using that all the time now... New 560cc Injectors only at 64% too ..
also noticed after that I was only getting 20 psi in 3rd and 4th gear.. 1st gear I knew I was only getting 15psi... but 2nd gear only bounces off 20psi and settles on 15psi.... EBC time ASAP!
Some pics and vids:
– 12.7 @ 112.9 mph (rode 3rd gear like a bitch, you can see the nose drop)
– 12.9 @ 112.35
Oh and my 60fts were worst ever! I used to get constant 1.8 60fts.. this time every time was like 2.1
