Got my rvr running with the new motor and im quite happy with it, making good power...
But....
Its laggy as fook! its making in the mid 200s kw wise but by the time it is hitting 17psi its doing 5750rpm!
I have a kando dynamics td06-25g (it says on id tag that it has the 60-1 wheel in it) and i knew it was large but im running a fairly serious motor (hks 272, cp forged pistons, heavily port n polished, custom plenum etc etc)
Im used to the big16g snapping on boost and away we go but by the time im starting to hit high boost im already off the speedo dial haha
HELP!

my vote is your cam timing is not set correctly.

I agree with Craig...
try advancing the inlet cam to bring on the boost lower in the rev range.

Another thing to think about... are you using the Kando supplied waste gate diagphram ?? Its a bit of a joke at about 6 psi spring pressure. That was the one supplied on our more conventional compressor cover with the outlet facing down ( and not the evo style upwards facing bolt on type . I had all sorts of trouble until I modified the wastegate diagphram... The wastegate flapper was just getting blown open.....

Thing is when my car went to get the run in tune they refused to play with timing, something along the lines that they couldnt get the knock sensor where they wanted t put it and where they put it, they couldnt hear anything so didnt play with timing whatsoever to avoid blowing the motor, so advancing my inlet cam will bring the turbo on earlier? you guys rock!

I wouldnt worry about it till it has a proper tune on it. Have they ever tuned a 4g before, they dont sound that great?

Removed or welded shut ?? Subtle difference in the wording , will have a major effect on lag ....

The guys that tuned it are world known for their engine bulding and tunes, and for that reason i took my car there but they were new to autronic (not to say they couldnt tune them, they just hadnt worked with them)
Problem was, where the stock knock sensor is, there sensor wouldnt go in same spot due to the bolt on the stock one being sizeably larger than the one that is used on their knock sensor...usually you can mount in other spots but their literally was nowhere to put it that would be decent.
Anyone have ideas how far to advance the inlet cam?

Tuned by Confidyne, they build 750hp 350z motors for offroad buggys in USA, they have a 1000hp time attack 370z, and tonnes of other crazy builds on the way (plus a nice 2million dollar workshop)
Going to modify another knock sensor so it will fit up and then try advancing the inlet cam

Yeah they have dropped the ball at gt abit, 90% of the time i have owned my rvr i have only let it goto nick at gt but having to fix a not so old motor because of poor workmanship (he sacked the guy that did it) turned me off there.
UPDATE: advanced inlet cam 4 degrees and its coming on boost much better, but i think i need a new boost gauge as it now surpasses the 20psi spot lol, oh and i need another tune as it now idles at 500rpm

its a lag monster on a 4G63 (2.0)
i personally would of gone TD05H-20G backcut (good for ~240kw ~25psi)
