Is Dirk on a bit of a break from the SA project over here or has he gone back to NZ to spend our $AU to live like a king?
Hmmm cunning plans eh?... all I know is that when the both of you start throwing around ideas Im sure this Evo project would turn out to be something worth watching

You've done a good job tidying it up so far, at least it wasnt as bad as some of the evo's I've seen from NZ
Can't wait to see what you morph it into, good luck!
Hah yeah, pretty sure its one of only a handful of early Evos left still retaining the stock wing. A look I intend to keep, although I may have a spare spoilerless bootlid for when I take it to the drags.

Also ordered some Ultra racing 3 point fender braces, were cheap ($135 for the pair) so thought why not. Will install those in a few weeks after I recover from my 74 hour work week starting Sunday (WTF did I agree to that for!?)

Also got another mate doing a Brembo swap to his FTO, so I can rob the front hub assembly off him as he's changing to Evo IV stuff.

Yeah they're from Jarred Bs car. Were a bargain really, plus it frees up the bits I still have for the spherical conversion for the Rage in the years to come.

i had every thing dummies up, and only the top arm doesnt bolt up, i would have thought you need to cut and weld in a different upper pivot into the chassis rail.
Also need to change the fuel filler as it fouls the upper control arm.

3 point Fender Brace fitted. Needs work to line the door back up, but otherwise fitted right up after drilling a couple of holes. I didn't like the bolts they came with, so replaced them with some nice re-passivated ones from my spares container.
Those fender braces are to be fitted on top of the door hinges (hence your doors are out of alignment)
as for what they do/ work you'll notice a big difference when jacking up the car from the rad support / front 0f crossmember
the chassis will flex's 60% less than it did before fitting them.
Damm good part for those chasing handling mods

Ive noticed that when jacking the car up, the front end doesnt flex as much, just like what George described.
Hopefully this goes a long way toward preventing cracks in the firewall that Lancers tend to experience.
I havent seen an EVO yet crack at the top of the firewall, which would be due to the extra support brackets welded on and around the strut towers.
