I didn't mind so much when I had the SA15s on the GSR. That car was cleaned once a week. I doubt I'll be as committed to keeping the Evo as clean, because I'm older/lazier/more crippled these days.

Andrew did a bit of a rush job prepping the Tarmacs as he's been busy getting read for a big move to the South Island - including getting his own 4G64 widedned Evo I RS running so it can be driven down. Looking closely see's they're not perfect, but for the price I paid, plus the fact these will bear the majority of the daily driving and get chipped etc etc, it was a good score.

Nevertheless I intend to perservere with the Tarmacs as they have been my favourite wheel since I saw Tommis Group A Evo IV sporting them in the 1997 WRC season. Definitely bucking the trend of this wise wheel/skinny tyre "Stance" fad we are currently enduring. I asm looking forward to seeing the Tommi rims on the car though.

Are you still using EBC?
Surprised Dirk hasn't forced you to get some Carbotechs, consider this some peer pressure *shakes fist at screen*

After a long and sustained argument with a toe control arm that knew it's days were up I got the first of the trailing arms in this evening. Damaged myself a fair bit so tonight I'm having a wee party with Mr Voltaren, round two may have to wait 'til the weekend. Be kind to your knees people!

So here we have an Evo II with a single Tommi rim:

The rims have 235/40 tyres on them for the meantime, there's no way these will fit without major work to the arches. With some 205 or 215/40s and some lip work they'll fit fine.

Oi! Quiet in the cheap seats! It's a tough life being a cripple :P

In other news...

Passenger side completed today, had the same argument with the toe control arm through bolt on this side, it eventually bowed down to the hacksaw.

Keeping it at that ride height on some stiff suspension it probably wouldn't scrape too. Probably wouldn't pass a WOF here either though

This has been a progress free zone for the past few months while I have been putting all my $$ into a trip to England later this month. If I get some time I plan to start reassembling the Mirages suspension so that I can swap the Evo into the centre of the garage so it's easier to work on. Then I can start working on removing the rear subframe and diff from the Mirage so they can be fitted to the Evo. Have all but decided on what colour it'll get painted if I can afford to do so too.

Probably looking like this won't be a runner until well into next year at this stage

Will be pulling the trigger on a number of purchases in the next week or so.

- ID1000s (Ordered)
- ACL 'Race' Bearings
- Defi 52mm Boost/Oil temp gauges
- Kelford valvesprings (Will be running stock Evo III cams until I can afford 264s or 272s) (Ordered)
- Turbo bits - have all but decided to buy a DSM 76HTA Green to fit to my Evo X exhaust housing, probably pulling the trigger on this one next week.

Planning on swapping the rear end from the Mirage over (Plate LSD plus modded subframe) over Christmas/New Years too. At least that'll be the rear half of the car sorted so I can get the block machined in the New Year and start with the assembly.

Hah, I was actually half way through posting in your thread the other day when my internet PMS'd on me :P

I'm keen to see how the 76HTA "XL" Green goes over the 73HTA normal sucker with twinscroll added into the mix. Hopefully make an interesting setup on the 2.2.

Would be quite nice with the 2.2 and bring on power early. What sort of fuel and power figures are you aiming to get on it?

Will be run on Gulls Force10 (10% EtOH blend) - the best fuel available locally to me. Anything in the region of 280kW/375hp at 1.6bar will make me happy.
