what model cc lancer was it?? GL or GLXi, reason im asking is the GL had a cable clutch while the glxi had hydrolic, if he had the GLXi then the next strongest box without changing anything would be a proton GTi/M21

Or could get a GSR/EVO gearbox and lock it in FWD, but then he will need to get an AWD K frame and an AWD crossmember, plus the passenger shaft from a GSR

I was going to say go a 2Lgalant box but then remembered no mounts on the box. Same with Hyundai.

He could go an awd box and use a viscous coupling. :) but that would require changing kframe and xmember (which isn't har to do, and I have for sale ATM aswell)

Like Evl20t said, if it's gl or glxi is very important. If its glxi and he wants to go down the line of awd box I do have kframe and crossmember and drive shafts (but box he'll Need to find) if its gl and he wants do the work I do have the correct pedal box and clutch cyl to make it work. Will just require some modification to his firewall :)

oh and also i know the car originally had a 4g15 carby in it so i would be guessing it would be the bottom of the line model

dont need blanking plate, u need to remove the end case of the gearbox and remove the viscous coupling unit and replace it with 1 of these http://meek.com.au/i...d&productId=283

If he has a cable clutch thhen he would have had a gl 1.5 carby originally, you will need to convert the comlete setup to hydrolic before you even decide upgrade anything

Its not gonna cost cheap, gearbox's alone are between 500 to 1500, then the awd crossmemner and k frame, then the viscous locking spline

tell him to take driving lesson's (Joke)

on a glxi box me and pleanty others have seemed not to kill gearbox's
clutches yes

but if your smashing gearbox's ? = driver error 99% of the time
smashing gears before clutch has disenganged / engaged and not speed matching when shifting, results in good bye syncro's
