I think Subaru have made a smart move with the BRZ to enter the Japanese RWD Sports coupe market, which has been mainly dominated by the Nissan, Toyota and Mazda marques over the past decade. Yes, the BMZ is no longer a concept and has hit the production line.
See pics of the car here: http://www.car-addic...brz-sti-concept
No matter what flag you fly for your cars, you cant dismiss the fact that the new WR Blue Pearl II paintwork on the new Subaru is p0rn!!!!
One good thing about sports coupes is that no matter what they are, they still manage to hold their own and look good many many years after their release (Toyota Supra, Mazda RX7, Mitsibusihi Eclipse, Nissan GTR, Nissan 350Z, you name it).

Mitsubishi...... where is our RWD/AWD Sports Coupe that we so much deserve!!!!!????!!!!!
The last Eclipse needs to be updated and available everywhere, not just in the U.S! lol.

Base model Subaru BRZ specs (note $25,000!!! by the time it hits our shores it would be more like $40-50k!!!) :

Toyota's concept Sports Coupe, the FT-86, fulfills much more of my styling expectations :)

i thought subaru was awd and the toyota was rwd. I still think toyota should have made its own engine instead of using the rubbish boxer. i'd much rather the AE86

nah both rwd, I think over all this is going to be a decent platform for a car, light enough, smallish tyres so should be
great fun to drive.

I will hopefully be doing some testing on a FT86 for aftermarket parts later in the year which should be fun.

I do like an under tyred rwd ;)

I thought subaru wasn't releasing it here, because it doesn't conform with their marketing strategy (AWD ONLY)???

it will slot into a place they dont cover currently, and drop in pricewise below the wrx(for the base brz)
should work well for them

U watch people start buying the Hyundai Genesis Turbo when they come out

RWD + 2.0-liter turbo now generates 274 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque on premium fuel. And, unlike many competitive turbo engines, this turbo's anti-knock sensors automatically adjust ignition timing and engine mapping to run perfectly on regular fuel, yielding 260 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,000 RPM. The turbo engine also features a cast-aluminum cylinder block and cylinder head

Brembo® four-piston calipers clamp down on fade-resistant 13.4-inch ventilated front brake rotors and 13-inch ventilated rear rotors on both R-Spec and Track models

Also did you know that the FT-86 (or even the GT-86) uses a Boxer engine??
I wonder why they changed ?

As far as I knew, it was always to have a boxer engine? Where was the change? :P Hence Subaru's involvement I thought...

Interesting to see how long it takes for turbo kits to come out for these things.

I'd prefer the Genesis myself.
The 4G63 motor code is street shorthand for dominance. It's automotive Darwinism.
