I am currently in the process of having it fully CAMS Log booked as a 3J LM improved production car and will most likely be sold with the log booking complete, but I am negotiable on the ins and outs, will obviously be cheaper as is. I have built this car to be a competitive state level Hillclimb car. I have used it fairly successfully as a club level hillclimb car in fairly standard form but have significantly up-specced it since then, however I have decided that I prefer drifting to racing and my wife has issued the ultimatum to choose one, which is fair enough, because i also have two motorbikes, but thats besides the point.
The car is fully caged with a weld in CDS 6-point cage and the body is seam welded... it is super stiff... which is funny to see going in and out of my driveway, with only 2 opposite corner wheels on the ground.
In terms of suspension, it has a set of coil overs. They front are more or less brand new custom built Bilstein 40mm inverted monotubes which have been valved to suit, but are not externally adjustable, they are built into a set of HKS bodies. The rears are HKS adjustable coil overs which I had checked for serviceability on the shock dyno. All this work was done at Heasmans steering and suspension in Sydney. The car has been corner weighted and set up by Racetige in Caringbah. So no work required there.
I have replaced the rear lower control arms with the boxed EvoIII items, same as the diff cradle, which is now the EIII gusseted type.
Never had any issues with the motor or driveline. Standard 4g63 (=Standard reliability! Factory MAGIC!) with a boost controller set to 13 psi and loves it, nice flat boos curve too. Comes with 2 TD05 turbos. The first of which is a standard TD05-16g that is restricted as per CAMS regs. The second turbo is a TD05-20G (larger compressor) which can be used for NSW state level hillclimb events (refer the regs which state turbo restrictor not mandatory). I can have either one fitted for the buyer. Newish OEM copy intercooler with aftermarket alloy plumbing. I also recently replaced all the exhaust and turbo gaskets.
The rear diff is the one way mechanical type. I am also 99% sure the front diff is also a non-standard mechanical unit, which is a good thing. It will also come with a spare open front that I picked up along the way. Rear swaybar is the largest whiteline I could get, 20mm if i remember right, possibly 23mm, will have to re-check.
The original fuel cell has been removed and a custom mounted (and easily removable! I designed it like that for some reason...) fuel module that contains a 20Lt foam filled Cell and 1.5 lt surge tank that gravity feeds a Whalbro external pump has been fitted in the boot area with a flamed proof bulkhead.
All brake rotors were replaced during the build process, fronts are vented and slotted and rears are slotted. Front pads are Ferodo TS2000, rears are bendix advance. All braided lines.
The interior is, being an RS model completely devoid of anything but some carpet and some seats. However the car unfortunatly will not be sold with an awesome drivers seat, I need to keep that for my other car!, but a generic black racing seat will be fitted to proper adjustable buddyclub sidemount seatrails.
The body is pretty race spec. Looks neat in the photos... but don't look too closely, nothing to worry about though. The rear guards have been flared using a rolling/flaring tool to fit some slightly wider than usual tyres/lower offset wheels, but they still required some reshaping, nothing major, which is almost complete also, will definatly be completed before anyone buys it!
After reading this, do you think 12000 is a reasonable price to ask for what is more or less a turn key race car?
