Hey guys, I have a quistion for you!

I have found a 4g63t engine that comes with the ECU and the wiring loom, it has fairly low Km's on it and it's local! (that's rare in tassie)

Now I own a Galant GSR and I know that a 4g63t will bolt in fairly easy but I am a bit confused when it comes to gearboxes, obviously I can't just throws a VR-4 gearbox in because it's AWD and my is FWD, so is there a way I can get it to bolt up to the GSR gearbox or any other Mitsubishi gearbox?

Cheers.

Most mitsu gear boxes will bolt right up but yes Evo and gsr boxes will fit you'll also bed a locking spline to run fwd

Does a bed locking spline just cut the RWD off or something? (Sorry for the derp question)

Yep. Lock spline. "locks" it to fwd.
U can run a galant box fine. Nonissue. A little more stress on it though. Have a mate running a 1.6 cb box on a vr4 motor for over a year with no issues :)

I'm fairly sure just swap over your looms and ecu and motor an it should be right to go. Not sure if you will have an issue with your taco though. There are a few different set ups to how these read. But that's a minor issue

It might helP to call Vic roads and see what motors it's been registered with. What engine# number is on the plate. See if it matches the motor. If it doesn't most likely the number on plate matches original motor :) then we can tell if it was carby or efi

Ok, now I do apologise for asking again but just to confirm, the VR-4 engine (1990) should bolt right in to my 1989 GSR galant? And as for Gearboxes a 1990 TP Magna gearbox should bolt up to it (as mentioned here) and fit as well?

Thanks for all the help guys, I do really appricate this!

Get a wet and dry compression test if you can still crank it over, or a leak down test if you can't.
Low km dont mean it's good condition, could have been cooked or anything.
