Thanks EVO-00X, although it's not as clean as the pictures portray
It's definitely getting an engine transplant sometime in the near future, i'm really torn as to what motor though :/
Options I have are:
4G93 N/A - will cost me $250 for the motor/loom/ecu + $ new fluids and maybe a clutch
4G92 Mivec - found one currently for sale for $900 + $ shipping cost from NZ
4G93T - $2800 + $ shipping from QLD (This is the CM5A cut on ebay Mike's talking about I think)
from a cost standpoint for the time being I think i'll get the 4G93 in there as it's a massive improvement straight away for next to nothing, then i'll consider my options as to whether I want to proceed N/A or go the CM5A swap or even just leave her as she is, i'm just abit worried with the GSR cut that i'll get it and i'll plonk it in the car and the bug will bite me and i'll end up spending copious amounts of money on the thing :/ haha

I'd Recomend with what ever motor you choose, new clutch, flywheel, timing belt/tensioners, water pump ect.
But my opinion is go for a turbo motor straight up. Then u have a lot more options down the track. If u go na, there isn't alot you can do on a budget for power that's worth it unless you spend big $. Turbos you can get more power easier and cheaper. Plus once the motor is in it'll be less time and effort required. If u want to upgrade to turbo later, out it all has to come, new looms ect

I guess we'll just have to see what suits me best at the time of doing it all, I may even just swap to the 4G93, keep it as a daily and move onto something like an Evo

Thanks man, but the CM5A front cut would cost the same price as what the car's worth :/ and I thought GSR brakes are 276mm?

GSRs use 256mm single piston brakes, identicle to Proton M21/GTi

lol it was a while ago now! and I've only ever thought of them as Proton GTI/M21 brakes because that's what the calipers came off of!

What 2.0 or 2.4 na engines go in these? I know the engine is in front of driver side. So will the mitsi designed 2.4 from 2000- 2003 sonata go in? Or last of the magna 2.4s?
