I've put my brand new bc coilovers on in the last few weeks
Very happy with them. Very strong firm ride
The problem is that they are set higher than my lowered king springs were, yet tey scrub more at the rear, my king springs didn't scrub an they were lower. I've adjusted the damper to fully hard and still got scrubbing. I adjusted the hight using C spanners (just the bottom, not the too where it compresses spring) and the damper on top of the coil
What am I missing?

Where is it scrubbing inside or outside??
My best bet is the spring hasnt been tensioned enough or you got soft springs, do you know what spring rate you have??

I got the br series to suit cc Evo 1-3
You can adjust at the spring aswell to compress the spring more. But the instructions said not to because it will make it uncomfortable.
I think it's stubbing on the outside. Mainly rear passenger side

Whats the width and size of your rear wheels and tyres?
Have you done the rear bar tab mod? because heaps of people scrub out on those.
How much do you weigh?
Do you have heaps of stereo gear and sub boxes in the boot?

Boots empty bro. Just the awd stuff. Running 18's ATM.
I think u may be onto something. I have done the tab mod. But i then got a fiberglass bumper and the tab on those can't be bent withought snapping. That is probably what it's scrubbing on! Can you bend fiberglass with a heat gun?

No never adjust the bottom of the strut, only adjust the height of the 2 locks at the base of the coil spring.
What?
The spring seat should only be used to adjust spring pre-load, you DO want to adjust the bottom of the strut to change ride height - why else would it be adjustable?

hahaha... yea Squid thanks for pointing out that I fukd up and got my shit backwards.
I meant to say 'never adjust the bottom of the coil spring (because he likes the existing ride firmness), only adjust the height of the 2 locks at the base of the strut lol.
I also own BC coilovers (the RM inverted model) that I fitted not too long ago and I adjusted mine from the base of the strut - it even states it clearly in the instructions.

Theres only 1 lock on the base of the strut, you lossed it up and rotate the bottoms to adjust the height
NEVER loosen the 2 lock spring retainers on the bottom of the spring, it was stuff around with the spring preload/tension

Yeah that's right. Just the one at the bottom. I'm guessing if I find a way to adjust the tabs for bumper my problem will be solved

Dude I have a set or the ER BC's and they fit fine! no scrub anywhere.
the only thing you have a problem is the reservoir hitting on the brakeline holder on guard wall.
and dont set them hard! you may as well go and fit a set of crappy teins. (coils are way too firm)
what camber do you have on the rear? that may help kick it away from the guard/bumper you have toe adjustment back there so you can compensate for tyre wear a little.
I'm running -3* but it is set for handling
I have found that the coils are a bit short meaning they are way to close to the bump stops (not enf travel) when you drop them down.
to set them up properly it is a combination of getting the spring bind and height right so you get max travel + & - and at a nice low ride height.

I don't have any camber adjustments on my rear just standard arms bro. I notice it most when backing out of my driveway.
I need a wheel alignment anyway so might take it and get them to fiddle with the coilovers. But I'd rather get it right by myself

If you read the instructions on most coilovers there is only meant to be between 3-5mm of spring "Crush" it wont help with your scrubbing but will improve the handling to set them properly if they arnt already

no as in you should wind up the two rings until they are just holding the spring (should still be able to turn the spring by hand) then wind the two rings up between 3-5mm from there an lock them off. Its not like your standard suspension where the springs have huge amounts of "crush". If you wind them up more than that you run the risk of the spring binding and damaging the shock itself.

Aha. I get you now. Yeah I read the instructions. They told me how to adjust them, but warned against it. So I left it. Ive never done suspension adjustment before so didn't know how it would affect things. Still trying to figure out propose camber for the fronts
