Hey guys,

Just thought (and realised) that I haven't done up a members rides post yet.

So, here goes nothing:

Make: Proton
Model: Jumbuck
Trim: GLSi

Engine: 4G63 N/A
ECU: Link Storm

Modifications (A few):
  • Custom Tuff Bullbar
  • Custom Exhaust (Manifold->Cat->Muffler->Split Pipe->Dual 5.5" Stacks)
  • Aftermarket Western Star Bug Deflector
  • Front "Wrangler" Mudflaps (Bow wave effect)
  • Tech Screwed Guards (Damn things kept popping off the buckled panels)
  • Aftermarket Rims, unsure of brand or style, they were freebies
  • 2xSCA 80W Pencil Beam Spotlights
  • Headlights uprated to 90/130W Arctic Blue
  • Modified Stock Rollbars to accommodate spotlight brackets
  • 4xMaxtel 55w Spread Beam Spotlights
  • Aftermarket Rollbar Mounted Secondary Tail Lights
  • 10xAmber/Red Clearance/Road Position marker Lights (5 per side)
  • Aftermarket Red Vehicle Position rear Facing Lights (Red)
  • Aftermarket Mack Mudflaps
  • Removal of Rear Step
  • Custom Dents
  • Custom Stickering
  • Custom Speed Holes in Bonnet
  • Aftermarket West Coast Truck Mirrors
  • Gun rack on rear parcel shelf (NSW Police Legal, featuring Muzzle lock and separate steel wire trigger lock)
  • Aftermarket Tool Box
  • Aftermarket Load Restraint Points
  • Aftermarket Fuel Cap
  • Aftermarket Radiator (5th one now)
  • CC Lancer Headlights (3rd Pair now)
  • "ROAD TRAIN" imitation signs (Technically below minimum dimensions to be legal "ROAD TRAIN" signs, and thus, as they do not qualify to be legally fitted to a truck, I can fit them to my Ute)
  • 8 tonne Ringfeder tow pack w/12V Military Spec NATO Plug
  • More custom Dents
  • Under Tray Reinforcement
  • Tray to cab reinforcement
  • Front Chassis Reinforcement
  • Hino Light Truck Rear Leaf Springs
She's had a bit of work done to her so far, and there is still much more to come, such as:
  • Fitment of 5th wheel towing assembly to tow custom goosneck trailer
  • Air Tanks to provide air to trailers
  • Air Actuator for trailer brakes mounted in cabin
  • More Chassis reinforcement for 5th wheel
  • Possible bogey conversion to back end with power divider (If I choose AWD Path)
  • More lights, many more lights
  • Turbo conversion
  • Tug Boat Fog Horns mounted to roof (I am not, by law, allowed to mount air horns designed for use on Heavy Vehicles or in Rail Applications...law says nothing about maritime applications)
  • 3" Front lift
  • 1.5" rear lift
  • Alloy Fuel Tank (80L)
  • Water Tank (30L)
  • Bigger Gun rack
  • Wheel Arch Toolboxes
And heaps more, the list of stuff that I'm gonna do to the old girl is endless, all the time Ideas are hitting me in the face and I am faced with new ideas, opportunities, and goals that I have to try and achieve with her. My aim is to take the old girl down to Deni and enter in both Most Unique Ute and Ute of the Year and see how she goes.

Attached are two pictures, one of my Ute with my mates at Quamby Pub out on Bourke Development Road in South West Queensland (Awesome pub, highly reccomended, best feed EVER), and the other is outside my friends house in Merimbula NSW, she had just come back from 12 months in Japan and was like "HOLY S**T!!"

Hope you guys lie my idea of making something different, I mean, strictly not a Street 4GTuner vehicle, but she IS powered by a 4G donk and, well, Jack of All has his on here, so I may as well show mine off.

Also, mine was the first "Rumbuck" she's a 2003 model, and has been badges as the Rumbuck since the start of 2010, it has come to my attention there is a late model 2010 Jumbuck that was sighted in South Australia with nothing more than a bullbar and the name "THE RUMBUCK" on the side. This person is NOT the true Rumbuck, and the vehicle is not even the same colour as mine.

Don't you love how you make something special and others ruin it for you, this is why we can't have nice things. I hate doing damage control when cases of mistaken identity come up.

One time I got hit up by the local MP's for doing burnouts on a Military Establishment, they asked me to positivley identify my vehicle in a video they had been given of a B'n'S Ute, clearly on the Establisment in question, doing exactly what they said, a wicked burnout. Vehicle had similar (If you could call it that, bar was wrong brand to mine, as well as the wrong color rear mudflaps, no side lights, etc) look to mine, same color it appeared in the clip, but I pointed out one very important key feature, the vehicle in question was spinning the rear tyres...

Turned out it was a VS Commodore from a distance greater than what the person told the MP's that he had shot it from, a Video of a VS on a phone shot from 100m will look kinda similar to a Jumbuck from 50m...

One point to note with the engine, we started with a 7 bolt crank engine, so a 2g from a guess, after trying locally to source the part in a short period, we ended up getting a G4CP out of a Hyundai Sonata (I think it was a Sonata) and swapped the Crank, Flywheel, and pressure plate, but fitted the new Thrust Bearing and Clutch Plate that I had purchased with the (wrong) 7 bolt flywheel.

We then installed it and though "Holy S**t!! she is seized, we fucked up" and then realised we screwed up with the adjustments on the torque wrench, slightly over-torqued the conrods, and the was smooth sailing there on. So she now has a 6 bolt crank.

THE PARTS ARE INTERCHANGEABLE!!

Just to stick on the safe side though, although I bought a "reco" donk, we replaced all the bearings, and gaskets while we had her stripped down. Rings were fine, we figure she probably was a rebuild as they looked brand new, we also think they might have skimmed the cylinders with a hone, cos they were schmick!!

C'mon guys, I know some of you don't agree with the B'n'S Scene, but I find it hard to believe that no one has an opinion on this...

Actually, had to take it out, Victorian coppers don't like you driving around Melbourne with a visible firearm...even though it was a legally installed system...

Yeah, it's got it's fair share in it's time.

Different is what I was aiming, every man and his dog has a Commodore/Falcon/Hilux/Landcruiser/Patrol/Navara/etc. that they have B'n'S'ed, and quite a few of the Commodores and Falcons in the scene are running decent powerplants under them. My aim was to make something that when looked at, would instantly scream "I AM DIFFERENT" and then when I plant the boot would go "LOOK AT ME!!!!"
