Well after spending some time on here and seeing all the immense weapons and builds my car seems almost a tad lacklustre. Anyways i thought i would post my 1988 Jspec VR4. I live in northern suburbs SA btw). Ive owned it for just over a year now, it makes 182AWKW on 98ron, Not bad but could be a lot better though. Current mods are:

Stock Motor internally
Td05H 16G Turbo – 18-20psi
Manual bleed valve
Evo 3 Exhaust Manifold
Standard turbo dump (1.5-2"not real sure) expanded into a 3” Flexjoint and from there back 3” exhaust (not the greatest setup, i know, am working on it)
J spec Cyclone Intake Manifold
Go Fast Bits manual variable vent BOV
510cc Yellow top Injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
Ecm Link chip with launch control
King Springs all round
sits on 17x7 Stamford SSW Nirvana rims wrapped in el-cheapo Austyre sport 205/40's (only type of tyre the shop had in, was an emergency)
^^
Personally i hate these rims, am getting some new ones hopefully soon - anyone interested in these please inbox btw

car has improved intercooler piping and custom airbox, no idea what size but has Jspec intercooler - throttle body is standard also

Any comments, feedback, ideas for improvements etc. is greatly appreciated

Yeah, looks like a good tidy sleeper. I mean, you see a heap of Galant's around like yours that are just normal crappy ones with the VR4 bodykit, and then you come across the good, true ones, that have had most of the work under the hood, those ones shine out. Good to see one that looks just simple, not ridiculously OTT like some of the others that you see around.

I'm a circle workin', bonnett surfin', tail gaitin', pig chasin', rum skullin', piss cuttin', ute stackin', whip crackin',
have a hoot, lose ya boot, hit the floor, get a score, grab a cup, bundy up, B&S Warrior.

Just an update, VR4 has been in for a 3" EVO 3 Dump, ARP Head Bolts and GReddy Profec B Eboost controller tuned to 21psi. Car went in for dyno and saw roughly +20AWKW below 3000rpm, a massive increase in low down torque.

Also Bought a set of 17" Koya CR Tek's

Sweet, he rocked up with it when I went to look at the work he was doing on mine.. it's very clean especially for an early one! Love those colour coded door handles especially.

Incidentally whats the offset/ tyre size on your rims?

the wheels are 17x8" all round, the fronts are +42 and rears are +35, had to get different offsets so as to clear the suspension arms on the rear and tuck them in at the front so it was all legal. The tyres are 215/45/17's, cant remember what brand though..

Man, I put a 17x9 +44 on the back of mine, with a 255x35 tyre and the tyre only just touched the trailing arm weld, I mean, I really think a 245 tyre would fit on the back it's that close. I have DBA brake rotors, maybe the hat is very thick?

Anyway, so you're saying the fronts won't fit under that back in +42? I also have a 17x8 +44 which has a 215/45 tyre and that fits just fine under the front and the rear. Ah, sorry to get off topic. :D

Really? I had it all measured up and fitted by Adelaide Radial, and was there when they were doing it so i could see for myself. Are you running any camber?

Another update, VR4 is now running on E85 using 910cc injectors and an Aus spec Inlet Manifold, now makes 205awkw. Thanks once again to Mike Dale Automotive for the tune.
