HI folks;
After years of talking about it I am starting to get the ball rolling on a State Mitsubishi meet!! This meet will have everything Mitsubishi I am even trying to organise a Mitsubishi Zero to fly in....
I am hoping to put on a celebration of Mitsubishis in one location. I am choosing to do this as I can work with my local council on this which is a major plus.
I have negotiated to have a weekend in 2013 (Date to be confirmed). it will be at the end of the year from Sept to Dec it is going to depend on what the council. local clubs, Mercury Venus and the Moon to line up (but this is my headache).
I have done some work on this already and would like to put on the following:
Show and shine:
Including a Classic category etc etc
Venue: Lake Wendouree
(Council positive and supportive)
Drags:
Venue: Ballarat Airport
(Ballarat Drag Club Keen to help us)
Autocross:
Venue: Ballarat Airport
(BLCC Positive need to work out finer details)
4wd track:
Venue: Ballarat
(Waiting on reply expect to be positive)
Tourist Drive:
Venue: Ballarat
(Council supportive)
As you can guess this needs a lot of support and I am putting a call out to you guys to lend some here. Iam hoping that if we do this Correctly we can then run a National meet early in 2014. I have choosen to do it in Ballarat as it is not far from anyone from Melbourne, Adelaide and it has most of the events in one location. Plus Council is willing to work with us on this. This is my first post I need you folks to get on and show your support so I can get some numbers. In the next few weeks I will posting the same on every Mitsubishi forum and website I can to get more momentum and get you folks with your cars in garages a target to get them out and working.
I will need help and I will post as soon as I have an understanding of what I need at this stage I need support in numbers including familes willing to come and stay. Numbers usually means Council suppport!
Show and Shine:
Search for Lake Wendouree on You Tube! Great place with botanic gardens as the back drop!
Drags:
Autocross:
It is not going to be perfect to start; However as long as you give constructive feedback we can work on it. Hope you folks support it.
Cheers
Bob

Update: Got a meeting with the 4wd club keep you posted if they come back supportive I will then call out for every Forum you know to get more numbers! thanks folks keep it coming with the support.
Once I have a rough estimate with numbers I will get a working group together to help plan and get this baby steam-rolling I am very excited I hope you folks are as well. Those that have their cars in garages being built start setting a date of completion for mid Next year set your budget and good luck the first show is always the easiest to win stuff in...

Sounds exciting, I'd be keen to attend.
To help you out a little bit, here is a list of Mitsubishi based clubs that I know of:
3000GT/Stealth International
3SGTO
AusLancer
Australian Magna Club
ClubCJ
EvolutionOz
FTO Australia
Mirage & Lancer Group Australia
Mitsubishi Forums
Mitsubishi I-MiEV Forum
Project Lancer
Sigma-Galant
There's probably a lot more, but at least it'll start you off

Just to be clear for those of you worrying about police presence, when the city council gets involved and gives approval there has never been a large car event here that has subsequently been raided by the boys in blue. Small town mentality I guess but a plus for us.
Ballarat hosts about 15 major car events a year including the southern hemispheres largest swap meet, and three of the largest hotrod and (seperately) holden cruises. Plenty of bogans for the police to attack but they don't.

The 4G63 motor code is street shorthand for dominance. It's automotive Darwinism.
