Gday guys new to the forum but old to Mitsu's. Recently picked up myself a new toy: a 1990 Trtion with a Galant VR4 motor in it :So far ive just spent time cleaning it up as it has ran out of rego and it needed some body work and couple of mechanical tidy ups, the guy i brought it off has done some really good work setting it up and has spent alot of time and money thinking it through for the long run, sadly he has recently moved interstate and hasnt had time for the triton of the last 6 months, so it has found a new home in my garage.
Some specs;
Engine: 2.0ltr 4g63T from VR4, TD05 with rebuilt internals, custom intake and exhaust manifolds, external wastegate, FMIC, BOV, pod, XF throttle body, 232/232 cams(am not 100% sure on cam specs but prettyy\ sure, and sounds nice and lumpy), adjustable cam gears, MicroTEC ECU and controller, 18" thermo fan,
Gearbox: 5 spd Jap spec turbo sigma, custom made Textrallia clutch and flywheel, cable clutch for now.
Driveline: Semi standard tailshaft with standard rear diff, 4:11 gearing, 6 stud setup with 4wd knuckles
Fuel: Twin fuel pumps, internal and external feeding 1ltr surge tank hidden under tub.
Exhaust: 3' dump into cat, 3.5" stainless steel all the way to rear with a single 5" cannon, is nice and loud and good for flow it no good for a RWC and EPA so exhuast is getting change to a single system spliting into twin 3" dumps either side of spare wheel.
Power: Car currently runs 8psi and is capable of 16, but as it has been sitting for a while it needs a little love before it is dyno'd but i think it should make a stout 150rwkw once it is a bit happier.
I have plently of plans for it but at the moment just focusing on getting it on the road and tuned as a daily driver
This is the ute before i brought it, doesnt have the 20" wheels on it now, rolling 16" pajero alloys, i have more photos but they are too big, will upload more when i compress them
Engine bay, currently is alot cleaner after my girlfriend spent 2 hours wiping down the whole thing
Will post more pics up soon, hope you enjoy

Thanks mate, ive always enjoyed sleepers and it functions well as a workhorse, the list of mods isnt bad, but always room for more , and yea it is 272/272. I still dont have a full list of specs on the motor yet as the bloke i brought it off does FIFO in the mines and its hard to get a hold of him. Again thanks for the welcome

Couple of updates: Have painted the rear rollpan on the car as it had been made and put on the car but never painted, has come up alright. Still need to hook up my washer bottle and give it abit more of a tidy up, but is slowly getting there. And have finally got around to compressing some more photos so here you go

Just a bit of an update: Got new exhaust fitted yesterday, very happy with the result, as i wasnt a big fan of the cannon out the back and it helps keep with the theme of being a sleeper. Also had the BOV removed as being in the process of roadworthying the ute. The system consists of a new high flow cat, into a large straight through muffler with twin outlet to twin 3" dump pipes either side of the spare wheel. Sounds good and is running heaps better, as with the large exhaust and hollowed out cat it took it a fair while to get going. If anyone needs some awesome exhaust work done in the GV area , Midland Mufflers in Shepparton are the place to go (excuse the plug haha).
All new from dump pipe back.
Had a bit of a play around with some piping as i want to fit an air box and change my compressor piping around abit just to clean it up. Got a BA XR8 pod airbox, as it has a provision for charcol canister connection. Excuse the dodgy cardboard and sticky tape haha just abit creative and was curious to see what it would look like.

hi there 4g
Mate i'm new to this forum aswell but just though i' post to say that i'm also in the process of putting a 4g63t into my 2000 mk triton trayback.
at the moment the ute is stripped down to a shell and it is getting painted as we speak. its going stage 2 viper blue.
i've just started rebuilding the engine while its getting painted. so far i stripped it down to a bare block, had it dipped and decked, also just recieved a set of 20 thou oversize wiesco pistons and a set of manley rods from the states so the block is in the shop now getting built
I think i will be getting a bellhousing from bill hincher from the states to hook up w series toyota box, don't know yet
mate if you have any hint or tricks to look out for that would be awesome
cheers dave
