I baught the car with a run in tune on a forged engine with low ks and this setup was purely for run in by the old owner. At the time my mechanic said its maxing out the turbo hence why I'm selling it. The turbos rated at 360hp from garrett. Have a look on there website for Specs on it. I've done appox 3000ks on it since owning it and then sat in a shead for th last 3 years.

I understand that alot of the Improved Production racing guys run this turbo in the 2.0 class. It's an awesome little unit. My mate has a 'Disco Potato' on his Duratec IPRA MK2 Escort and it's damn fast.

It's the perfect bolt on upgrade for a 2L 4g63 or 4g93 engine for a responsive street setup any one that has gone for a drive in a car with the gt2860rs know it's a good combo with a light car. I carnt speak highly enough of it for a 2L. If the 4g93 exhust manifold flange is the same as well it should bolt up with no problem. Price is negotiable. Make an offer as I have a new Garrett gtx 3071r on the way. And would prefer to see it on some one elses car instead of my garage. If your not familiar with garrett turbos as the are not traditionally associated with evos consider it as another option than a 16g 20g or tdo type brands of turbo

I like what you're saying! I just finished putting a T28BB on my rebuilt CA18.
Can't wait to try it out now :)
Why do they call it a disco potato though?

Hey mate,

The flanges are different. The Evo one is about 5cm longer than a GSR. I know, i made that mistake of assuming!

Thanks for that info, Its good to know,

The turbo setup its self will still work on the 4G93 quite well however by the sounds of it the flages a differnt, however with the correft flage addaptor or flange on aftermarket manifold and the turbo and intake pipe and dump pipe should all still work

:)

This is a quote I found of one of the SR20 forums in America

"It was developed by Garrett in the US for a project car called the Disco Potato with an SR20 powerplant. The car's power was impressive, 280 hp at the wheels, but not earth-shattering. The driving experience however, was. Throttle response was excellent, turbo lag virtually non-existent, and the tyre-smoking horsepower was outstanding. The turbo spooled up early, making so much torque, that the best quarter-mile time (13.7 at 104.5 mph) was achieved launching in second gear. The vehicle was so successful that Garrett the turbo as the GT28RS."

The Disco Potato (Above)

This turbo was developed for a 2L engine by garrett, hence why its such a good responsive upgrage for 4g63t street setup

"This is an ultra-responsive, yet powerful turbo capable of making full boost by 3000 rpms and over 300WHP (350 crank HP) and just as much torque, on as little on 20 psi of boost on an internally stock engine when tested with our 3" turbo back exhaust system. This turbo has awesome drivability, and, with the proper supporting mods, has as much bottom end, much more mid-range than the stock turbo while capable of flowing enough air to allow you double the HP of the 2.0T engine reliably."

Hope this helps clarify for anyone wondering.

the 4g93t flange bolt patern is exactly the same as evo 1-3. i'm running a td05 16g from and evo on my stock manifold.
