Hey Guys

Been a member on here for a year but time for an intro.
My name's Andrew, I started my modified car life with a european Bluebird (CA18ET, FWD) which I ended up putting an SR20DET (GTiR, running Autronic) in and then doing an AWD conversion with GTiR/U12 running gear. Had this for about 5 years before someone hit me in the side and wrote it off, so I upgraded to the car I'd been trying to emulate- an R32 GTR, which I've rebuilt and modified, and still have as my daily.

My wife (who also enjoys modified cars) asked if I could get a four door (read: family) car for our next purchase (but not a WRX) and seeing as agreed with her regarding the subi (and still wanted a turbo AWD platform) I thought the Lancer GSR 1.8 would be ideal. I've always loved the shape and look (esp from the rear) plus I usually want a car that will provide a good platform for modifications. Of course I knew down the track i'd be putting a 2 litre in it so I currently have a 6 bolt VR4 on the stand and an Evo 1 engine coming in the next week. I think I'll plan on using the Evo head on the 6 bolt block (still unsure about whether crankwalk in the 7 bolt would be an issue in the future) but seeing as it's my first foray into the mitsubishi power plant I'll probably start a build thread just so I can get feed back on the best way to go about the build.

I'm in Brisbane and I do my own tig welding, fabrication (have own lathe and mill) and engine building in my garage. I'm more than happy for members in Brissy to swing by and make use of my garage if it helps keeps the costs of your project within the realms of affordability. (No labour charge)
didn't have time do do it right but found the time to do it twice....

Cheers guys- yep I realise i didn't mention that I bought a red GSR last year. Almost stock- had king springs and a slightly bigger exhaust. Upgraded the suspension to some rebuilt Ohlins- purchased off jetgsr- handles fantastically now but could really use some more grunt.

I'm not an engineer but would like to get certified welding ticket at some point.
