hi all,
after 4 months finally got the car on the road, registered... had this problem before, and it stopped for a few days, and now its back.
what is this and the cause of this? should i stop driving it?

Lifters are fucked...common problem on a lot of Mitsubishi engines.
Contact Meek Automotive in Sydney they keep them.
You can still drive the car too...

Make sure to also do an oil service when you replace your lifters as well as if you haven't done it in a while get a rocker cover gasket

topped oil, let it run in a bit, sounds not as loud but its still there.
is it expensive to do the lifters? ive spent 7k to get it road worthyed and kinda sick of spending more onto it.. planning to get rid of it soon :/
able to thrash it still or gotta take it easy?

I remember paying $60 each back in 1999, the price has come down since the turn of the Web with access to the US. Try Meek, I got mine from Camtech Cams for my 4G63 though, only $125 for 16.

Note: The rocker cover gasket set is cheaper through Meek. Also, I've never brought anything from Precision but they seem legit (it was just to show what's available).
