Hi Gents,

Can anybody who has a VR4 and/or EVO1-3 flywheel please measure the diameter and let me know what it is.

Need this info to help work something out.

Thanks mate - I'd appreciate that.

The flywheel I've received that is supposed to be for a VR4/EVO1-3 application seems to be too big and won't fit in the EVO bell housing.....

Then id say it's not a vr4 flywheel. I have a vr4 flywheel and it fits in my GSR housing. GSR, Evo, galant, vr4, cb lancer, cc lancer flywheels all have the same diameter as far as I know. I've done multiple flywheel/motor/gear box combos and never had bell housing starter motor clearance problems.

I'm thinking they've sent me the wrong flywheel. If you could still grab a diameter off one of your EVO or VR4 flywheels that I could use as a reference, that would be great. Cheers mate.

Our AWD flywheels should be around 268mm in diameter. Our Bellhousings are 275mm in diameter.
Me thinks Shayne was sent a 285mm diameter 2G Eclipse FWD flywheel.

Need to go and see it tomorrow. From what I was told - the flywheel is too big.

You were probably sent a 6 BOLT FWD flywheel.

They have a larger ring gear.

Sounds like the same problem that Angelo had when he bought the 4G63T AWD flywheel from the states ay

Same clutches...
I had the same problem with my Fidanza alloy flywheel.

The ring gear is what hits the bell housing. Only just....

I looked into swapping the ring gear and found it too costly.

Will definitely be your problem...

I've been dealing with a crowd here is Aus, who have been dealing with another crowd in Aus. Somewhere they must have mixed shit up and sent me the wrong fly wheel.

Jim Berry has made me up an EVO1-3 clutch and pressure plate arrangement which must fit on this incorrect flywheel, as the guys installing it all into the car got it to the point of trying to put the transmission on, hence the problem with it hitting the ring gears on the flywheel!

I definitely want the Xtreme flywheel FMI004C though, after reviewing the P/Ns in the catalogue.
