And the rattlesound are not with only the 4th upgrate.
The 4th gear make also another sound but that's normal

Hello Matthias! Welcome to 4GT!
You can see that your work has caused some excitement here amongst us in Australia. There are some high quality, high powered vehicle builds on this forum and alot of the members here would benefit greatly from an upgraded gearbox - so I am sure we will be able to make use of your services.
If you require parts from our gearboxes, I am sure we will be able to arrange delivery of them to you when required.

Matthias, those Youtube links are not working for me?
It looks like a few of us are genuinely interested in getting some work done
I''m leaning toward doing the 3rd/4th and centre diff upgrade now.
I think I even have a spare intermediate shaft with chipped teeth on 3rd and 4th gear sitting on a shelf here anyway.
I would get it done to a welded centre diff for extra strength rather than doing it to a 4-spider centre.
I'll have to get some $$ together first, maybe even sell off a few things to do it lol.

I'm genuinely interested also. I have 2 boxes apart atm so the timing is ideal. Just gotta get my financials sotted out as a trip overseas has put a big dint in the budget. What specific parts are required? As I'm not too savvy on gearbox lingo.

Nice to see you on these forums as well mathius. I don't get on here much myself, but may as well ask the questions on this forum as opposed to the other one since there is strong interest in Australia for it.
I am definitly interested in the 4th gear upgrade, noise is no issue as my vehicle is a track car only. It can compete with my screamer pipe and already noisy exhaust And radio - whats that?
With the 4th gear upgrade only, can you clearly explain what you need exactly to acheive this and what we need to do locally. I think for the majority of owners, this will be the one with the main interest for us.

for only the 4th gear upgrate i need
a shaft with 3th gear was ok.
the 4th or 3th gear, with broken theeth ore whatever, i need only the synchro pice.
and the syncho ring for the 4th gear
in the picture what i have postet you can see the work what you must do at the centerdiff,i can that also do but thats a easy job and are more expensive shipping at oversea

Thanks for the pics and videos Matthias. Are you the guy with the cigarette hanging out of his mouth in the videos?
When you cross the 400m line (1/4 mile) are you still in 4th gear? if so what rpm?
Do you still use the factory EVO 2 front diff crownwheel with 64 teeth on it?
Also can you provide us with your address details to send our parts to?
It will help me work out a cost to send the parts to you.

Thanks for that. Yes I thought you might have been using the GSR 1.8T front and rear diff ratios (58 tooth front diff crownwheel with a 3.545 rear diff ratio).
Thankyou for answering all the questions.
Can you provide us with your address to send the parts to?
I am going to work out a cost.

Such a shame I threw all of these damaged intermediate shafts in the garbage bin around December 2012!!! aaaarrrgghhhh (see picture of shafts in red plastic tub)
Ive added three pics to show the boys what a stripped 4th gear looks like and just how small the oem 4th gear teeth are!!
The damage to the larger 3rd gear intermediate shaft teeth (the 2 shafts on the left in the red tub) were caused by the spider gears in the centre diff breaking and locking up the centre diff, which in turn seized the centre diff and stripped the teeth off 3rd gear and 3rd gear intermediate.
Anyhow, I'll put some parts together and take some weights during the week, then update the forum with weights and realistic costs to ship to Matthias in Germany.
Matthias, from what I understand, you want these parts shipped to you. Is this right?
4th gear only upgrade:
* Intermediate shaft. Must have good teeth on 3rd intermediate. But it doesn't matter if the 4th intermediate teeth are damaged because its getting a new 4th dog gear put on it anyway.
* 4th gear cog itself (from input shaft) is needed because you want to take the synchro piece off it and put it on the new 4th dog gear for the input shaft. It does not matter if 4th gear is damaged.
* The double synchro rings for 4th gear.
* NOTE: Once the customer get's the 4th gear upgrade back. They must machine shave 2mm off the outer circumference of their centre diff housing and cover to clear the larger 4th gear dog teeth (see pic). OR, you can do this for the customer if they send you their centre diff, however it will add to the cost of postage.
3rd gear, 4th gear & Centre diff gear upgrade:
* Intermediate shaft. Doesnt matter if it has damaged 3rd and 4th intermediate teeth as both will be replaced with new dog gears on the shaft.
* 3rd gear and 4th gear cogs (from the input shaft) so you can take the synchro pieces off the 3rd and 4th gears and put them on the new 3rd and 4th dog gears. It doesn't matter if 3rd and 4th gear cogs are damaged.
* The double synchro rings for 3rd gear and 4th gear.
* Centre diff housing and cover. Does not matter if the teeth on the centre diff are damaged as it will get a new dog gear put on it. You will also shave 2mm from the outer circumference of the housing and cover to clear the 4th dog gear (see pic)
Edited: Came back to add a pic and info about shaving the centre diff housing 2mm all the way around to clear the new 4th dog gear on the intermediate shaft - Rob.
