So i've had the GSR on the road for a few days now, and am starting to get used to how everything is working.

One thing I have notices is, if I give it a bit on standard boost (10psi) in first it will boost up fine, but when I put my foot down in second it seems to take ages to actually spool up, by the time I am at 6500rpm it is only just hitting 8psi. When I have it on high boost though (around 14psi) it is fine, no issues. SOrry if I sound a bit stupid as this is my first turbo'd car, but could this be the boost controller doing this, or something else, ie. vac lines motor issues, turbo issues.

Help would be great.

Also notices that say, i put my foot down in 5th on the highway, it boosts up find, though if i take my foot off, and quickly put my foot down again, it will take ages to spool up again.

Anyone have ANY ideas? :P.

Also another query.

I have a inconsistent loud ticking noise coming from the motor, not before someone says lifters, it does not sound like it is coming from the rocker cover, it sounds like it is coming more from the injectors/intake mani. I bought some of that lifter free up stuff people keep mentioning (can't remember the name) just to try it out, though it did become louder after I changed the oil to Shell 10w40, im just worried that it is not the lifters as it does not really sound like it is coming from the cover.

Thanks :)

What bov do you run?

To help find the noise, use a big long screwdriver as a stethoscope, put pointy end on bit you want to listen to and put ear on other end. You will be able to narrow down the source of the noise by listening around.

Watch out for long hair, necklaces, ties, etc.

it's a GFB plumb back/vent to atmosphere. Also the sound sort if goes with the fuel pulse through the rail, I thought maybe injectors?.

I will try that as well though :)

So, try it at the full soft setting? Any better?
Is it plumbed back? It should be.

Yep listen away, everywhere you think the noise is coming from

it's non adjustable unfortuantly, confusing though as it spools up fine on full boost.

Hmmm dunno.
Maybe try blocking off the bov and see if it's worse.

Or try disco the wastegate vac line and test. Just watch boost gauge and back off if it gets too high
