Hey guys,

Here is my new car, after the GLXI died a month or so ago i finally had a good reason to get a new car.
Picked it up from newcastle and drove 9 hours straight back to brisbane, and it went great.
Its got a bit of roof rust bubbles started, but apart from that and a couple of small dings its pretty straight.








Last one is with the wheels from from GLXI, and i still have a set of coilovers in the GLXI to change over.

Mods wise, i dont have massive plans, it has a TD05 already, which is nice, but apart from the coilovers, and trying to track down some original seats, i would love to just have a reliable car.
Yes front bar is E1, and im not sure on the lights, but was told they are E3, which im not super keen on, original headlights better.

It basically already has everything i wanted to do to my other lancer before it died.

They aren't E3 lights but...They are ebay specials.
E1-3 have clear lens headlights and E3 come with amber corners.

Looks clean, I have a set of gsr front seats, the drivers is a bit worn though

Grrr, i would be pissed at the bonnet dent from the battery tie downs.

Yep, they are stock headlights. I wouldn't mind yours (buy of course) if you changing them out...
I have a plan to put some projectors behind the lenses

I know that car, those seats used to be out of my old widebody Proton M21

The previous owner had plans to throw a 4G63T in it but we ended up getting it

Yep..that's them..also Evo 1 & 2, are the same as those pictured. Only E3s come out with amber corners/indicators.

I really dig the amber indicators, and have wanted them for a while but seeing as i have 2 setsof clears already ill probably just use them,
I will swap out the headlights too, so Jack if you want them they're all yours.

May be a few weeks though, i went to get RWC today, and the major problem is the roof, which i knew i needed one eventually but didnt want to be forced to get a new skin.
Ive read the threads on it, but can anyone actually recommend someone in Bris to do the job well?

Just dropped the car off for a written off vehicle inspection and don't get an answer till Monday

Why did you need to do that??

It had been written off sometime prior to 2008 in nsw but deemed re-registerable in nsw.
I got a roadworthy fine last week, went to register it and then they got some alert saying it needed to be checked over. $450 just for the possibility they'll say its unsafe. Hopefully if its safe for nsw it will be ok for qld.

Hey guys, Thought I'd up date this, as I feel I've accomplished and learnt quite alot from this car already.

There has defintiley been alot of unplanned setbacks and time off the road, but my attitude has defintley changed and now if something goes wrong I am actually just happy about it because it means one new part in the car and one step closer to finish.
 

 

 

Soo, very long story shorter.

In the 20 or so months ive had it, its probably been on the road for 6 or 7 months of that due to things like snapped timing belts, bent suspension, pretty much everything worn out and me taking forever to fix the roof.

Early on when i first got the car it only had a evo 3 turbo, but none of the supporting mods, so that was sorted out, and also replace the ebay IC and piping with full evo setup as well as finding a bumper reo.
Ive also since had all new components (not uprated) in the head and itself fully ported, as well as doing quite a bit of work on the intake manifold and throttle body myself.

New rotors all around and braided lines, and ive also changed all the suspension, steering and shifter bushings in the front to aftermarket.

I finally got the car back on the road just over a month ago, after taking it off around march to do the roof and suspension etc. I left it up at my dads which is over an hour away, so even though it was good not having to rush my work, an hour drive just for me to test fit or see something kinda sucked.

Since getting the car back ive also had the clutch replaced, oh and i got some recaros : )
 

 

 

This was her after on the day i was ready to bring her home after working about 30 hours straight to meet an alingment appointment.

 

 

The main plans for this summer are to finish up the bushings and sort out a thicker swaybar in the rear, get a new set of wheels and tyres, do shifter bushings inside and do some work to the exhaust mani, all with the hopes of starting in the Time Attack at QR in street class early next year for some fun.

Yea man definately lookin good,

an ya got the right idea, broken means upgrade time, an the good thing is that these cars last pretty well imo, do it right the 1st time an it'll last another 20 years, lol
