looking good.

these old girls are a never ending lesson....on how much time you can spend under it rather than driving it

Yea man definately lookin good,

an ya got the right idea, broken means upgrade time, an the good thing is that these cars last pretty well imo, do it right the 1st time an it'll last another 20 years, lol

Thanks guys, I reckon i do like working on it as much as driving it, i just wish i had a bit more driving time haha.

Also planning to get it on a dyno in the next few weeks for a base figure, Im thinking of installing larger 70mm TB as thats what i bored the manifold too, but anything else I should be doing beforehand?

Thanks guys,
I really dig the amber indicators, and have wanted them for a while but seeing as i have 2 setsof clears already ill probably just use them,
I will swap out the headlights too, so Jack if you want them they're all yours.

May be a few weeks though, i went to get RWC today, and the major problem is the roof, which i knew i needed one eventually but didnt want to be forced to get a new skin.
Ive read the threads on it, but can anyone actually recommend someone in Bris to do the job well?

Check out the difference the amber indicators make, transforms the look of the car

Looks good...

I think I still prefer the clear indicators tho... Just put a chrome bulb in the housing ... And Bam ...

I have contemplated for many years going back to orange .... but think it just looks cleaner clear... But JMO... :)

Moved on from the DSM powered Sonata who put out 238kw @ the wheels .... To a GSR 2.0L that is now engineered ..

Thanks guys.

They are definitely still on the shopping list, they just keep getting pushed down.

Mine clear ones are all foggy anyway.

Each his own I guess LOL

I don't get why do amer at the rear, and on the side then bam clear front ;) haha

I had to do wreakers shopping in NZ just to find them, then had to do it again once a old guy reversed into one of them and smashed it.

(Still worth it tho) haha

You can lightly buff the clear ones up and it will bring them back for a while....

Maguire's Scratch X polish does a great job on dulled lights.

Small update, not car related but moved house a few weeks back and I FINALLY have a garage!

8F95CA03-8295-4E49-9216-7393F66992A1_zps

I'm slightly over the moon as before this I had to drive to work or my parents to work on the car.

Currently my old lancer is taking up the space, but in putting her back together and then the gsr will have a new home.

She's looking pretty sad

Got the car on the dyno for the first time yesterday. Just to get an idea of where it was at.
It made 115kw at the wheels, on 10psi, but on the 2nd of 3 pulls it had a knock at about 5000RPM and we stopped.
He said the boost rose to 12 pound when it had the knock. He had also said the car was running a bit rich.

5F824BF9-961C-49D9-BE69-F06B61E3EBFC_zps

Afterwards I realised the sudden power loss and feeling of a restriction I've been experiencing for awhile is probably also the result of the engine knocking. It usually happens to me at full throttle in 3rd or 4th, say when I'm on a highway entry.

Some details on it-
4g93t, had a head rebuild 10,000k's ago, with stock internals but ported and polished.
Evo 3 turbo, ecu, afm, injectors, and intercooler setup.
Standard 93t throttle body, intake and exhaust manifold (ported for the td05).
2.5" exhaust.

Never more then 5000ks between services which includes plugs, it runs really smooth and since the rebuild has never overheated.( an old problem it used to have).

Does anyone have advice or thoughts on what or where I should be looking to try and prevent this, not chasing ridiculous power just want to be able to put my foot down and enjoy my car. Cheers!

did you get the timing changed for the higher rpm?

I have a turbo civic that if I use a Na ecu/map it doesn't like to rev very high and timing seems to be very retarded and boost raises quickly but doesn't go anywhere. when I use my turbo ecu/map it runs fine and boosts normally.

^ as above said, maybe worth checking the timing, mine was 160kw atw, same mods plus a t/b and 17 psi, never got retuned/ chipped,
were ya injectors flow checked?

Nah, never flow tested, I only replaced the filters and o rings before i put them in.

Ive never touched the timing, and nothing was checked prior.

I will look into both.

Cheers for the advice guys.
