Do the 'run in' on the 16g and sort it out after. maybe consider some stock cams for run in as well..
I don't know who bought the gt30 that Brian had, and i think 1jum2nv had a gt30 for sale.

The 16g spools up so fast one a stroker it is like a stock gsr curve....but hangs in a bit longer. just did one and it wheel spins out of 2nd gear corners at 3k rpm. has 272 regrind cams....copy hks

for more top end and still good response for throttle steer...20g or FP68HTA with 8cm exhaust. maybe george still has his for sale???

as long as you arent going to circuit race it which would over heat the viscous fluid....I reckon a viscous front lsd would be fine for rally sprints and some light tarmac stage work that isnt continous twisty stuff. I can put you in touch with a guy that has a recently overhauled evo 3 box with evo 2 crown/pinion and visc lsd. that means your stock transfer will fit. I think Brad is asking 1600

So in your opinion the 16g big will be ok for starters Brian? If I'm not mistaken I can upgrade to a 20g housing down the track?

Talking to bazeng about his FP3 cams atm, seems that they should be a better cam for what I'm doing. I'll put the 280's up for sale if you know anyone that might want.

Block and head went to the machinist today. I have a big order from JNZ tuning on the way, including a FP ex manifold, full gasket kit, balance eliminator bits and some other bits and peices that didn't come with the motor. Found some 1000cc injectors just round the corner from me, $250 the set.

Thanks for your help so far fellas, appreciate it.

George.

16g will have good response....20g will too but more top end.

dont bother with the rebuild of a 16g...buy a 20g ready to go from Kando for less than rebuild labour in perth.

try to find the 8cn rear if you can...flows better and that is the restriction on these turbos when the wick is up

engine mount looks like this. ^
If you go this way you need to cut/mod your timing covers or buy evo ones.
Like i said, i have a modded vr4 one. it will clear covers etc but won't be as neat as the evo.
i haven't used mine and you can have a look or measure it.

Meek have the evo mounts and if they ever come up for sale they get snapped up real quick.

Meek!! bugger me. $260+ for both! Thats a bit steep.

Lucky I got access to some machining tools, so I might have a go at modding one myself. When I get closer to needing them, I'll take you up on the offer to have a look at yours Jack.

@Brian, Engine guy has been informed about clearancing the cradles. Reckons he had planned to....... yeah right. Good on ya mate, thanks for the reminder.

Walbro will have a part number stamped on it. pull the cradle for a look and Google the number. something will come up.
Don't undo the feul flexe pipe at the sender end, it will stuff the pipe. undo at the chassis rail end of the flex.

Thanks lads. I still haven't had a look which pump it is. I sure Ben mentioned 255 during the sale, but will pull it just to be sure.

Picked up the injectors tonight, RC engineering 1000cc.

The turbo arrived and I have been getting that fitted up to the GSR. The downpipe however has not even shipped yet, which now has me on the scab to see if I can get something which will bolt up for the weekend. Anyone got something that I could buy, borrow or rent that will bolt up to a TD05 16g that will match up with the current exhaust position? Much beer on offer. Other than that, I just have to get an AN-4 10mm banjo for an oil line and she should be good.

Let me know if you know If you've seen a downpipe on offer locally. Not much luck in my searching.

as far as I know the exhaust will need to be changed as there is an angle change ....and a different flange betwwen the td04 dump and a td05. I probably have a dump that you could use...but whether it will be the same as what you have coming...perhaps a link to your purchase could help

That one Brian. It may also need an exhaust mod, thou looks very close to the angles of what I just pulled off. A small angle chance is no problem, the current exhaust is just a flange and 3m meters of pipe.

G'Day Ben, good to here from you mate. I did have a look at the receipts today, pump is good for for the conversion. The big plan is to just doing the 2.0L swap mate, but not till after TSW. Car is going great as it is, have had to do very little to keep it running top notch. You should see what's going on if you drop in here every now and then

Engine mount sorted :) glad I could help out!

And a big help you've been Lewis. Thanks mate. I'll flick you an email tomorrow.

@ Brian, I'll give you a ring tomorrow and work out a time to drop down.
