I been softening her up for that..... I've it a whole list of reasons why it's going to be slower. Just got to make sure she believes them......
We went for a bit of a cruise last night with her driving and the smile on her face tells me slower or not, all will be forgiven.

Mixed feelings after taking the X for some laps at the weekend. A speed event at MC Motorsport which was supposed to be your best three times added after 4 runs..... but mother nature gave everyone the bird and it turned into shambles. So I got one good run in the dry, one ok run in the wet, a whole lot of grass mowing and aquaplaning with fistfuls of fuck all on the thrid run...... and then some poor dude buttfucked his brand new Sti into a very stiff guardrail which bought an end to all the fun.
So with respect to the first two runs, times were ok with a 3rd in class / 6th outright in the dry and 4th in class / 6th outright in the wet. Brians got a good phone video of my ABS hard pedal aquaplane grass mowing fuck up that I'm sure he will post up. And that part of it was the hardest thing for me to get my head around with the car, all the shit it wants to do for you to make you look like a better driver, but as the driver that's never experienced a car that drives itself, I spent a lot of times fighting it saying WTF! I had the ASC off on the first setting but not the 3 sec off off setting, so it was still trying pretty hard to save it's own life.
I did shit myself when the 245 tyres hit the standing water and the car aquaplaned, all the electronic stuff cant do fuck all about the situation, so the brake pedal just goes rock hard and even a driver willing to try something different just gets locked out. Didn't enjoy it at all.
All good lessons learnt. The car is obviously fast, way down on power and torque to the GSR, but going round corners it is just spasticaly better in every respect. Will try to get some vid up tonight.

Drop in here to see how its all going - all well fuk me..
Just think - for a few extra grand a little while ago you could have been going so much faster than you are now, and have saved a buttload of cash...
I see my old III was ripping ar$eholes a-plenty at powercruise @ the weekend - no suprise really...
Like the new rig - a move in the right direction..
Enjoy..

Swings and roundabouts Ben, swings and roundbouts!!
Wouldn't do it different mate, learnt lots and had good fun. (Yeah, and pissed plenty of dollars into wind!)
New platform is better for us. Showroom stops you pouring too many $$ at it, and all the computer shit gives me more to learn.
Anyway, where's the big esky of Dhu fillets you promised me!!???

The showroom shocks have no adjustment at all and a couple were making some interesting noises so they got the ass too. Out with the good shocks and in with the better shock. Spring rates are 90nm front and 80nm rear, and fairly soft on the high and low speed settings. Quick squirt after install and it's like night and day with no funny noises.
Going to change the AYC diff to the RS diff on the weekend. It'll be slower but need to save the stock diff for targa events. See how we go at the first McRae event next week.

so no adjustment on the showroom shocks even from the top? usually a 3mm allen key is needed way down down inside through the guts of the shaft

Thats very good B!! Only us old farts would have even thought of that. Was a deleted post cause tapatalk is being fucked again.

Nope. They are a weird shock. In the top were you would normally find an allen key hole for damper adjustment, you pop the cap and its a schrader valve for a 'non-remote, remote canister'. Same with the rears, where the remote canister attaches normally, there is a valve for what I assume is an internal canister. Fucknose, but there is absolutly no adjustment, and it is this that I think makes them legal for showroom.
The ones I took off a fucked thou, all those noises I was talking to you on the phone about all stopped. Will strip them down and see whats going on, but I rekon the bearing that guides the upside down bit at the bottom of the canister is fucked. Don't need them till middle of next year so not overly stressed about it.
I'm on a mission today to find something to cap off the AYC circuit to the rear diff....
