And why did this not suit a fwd application?
perhaps it worked too well and the driver didnt like the way it drove. can be a bit of a pain when they are tight
The things you can pick up from pictures and just a little bit of information lol....
The photos of the LSD have bearings on it to suit an AWD gearbox casing. But then I noticed the FWD locking spline so thats OK lol.
Could the main reason why you didnt like it in your FWD application is because you were using the wrong type of gearbox oil to begin with? Thats got Redline Shockproof alien blood (bluey green) gear oil through it. That would have made the Cusco LSD engage extremely harsh, plus the synchros would not have been engaging properly as that oil is known to kill synchros too (remember Alien blood was like acid in the movie lol).
When driving the car in FWD mode I can only assume that it would have understeered pretty bad on you when accelerating into corners and then when exiting a corner with the foot down, it would have wanted to snap the steering wheel out of your hands to point the wheels straight again. It wouldnt have been my idea of fun in a FWD doing laps around a track lol Was that few hundred km use on a circuit/track?
The LSD would definitely need to be opened up and all of its internals cleaned up properly and the plates inspected for wear before reusing it in another gearbox with a more suitable oil like Motul 300 Gear FF-LSD Type 2 SAE 75W90 for example

Wasn't my car or a car I had anything to do with, i just watched its progress. The FWD phase was just interim while an AWD setup was sourced and the only driving done was a few broggies around the block to get the motor setup.
And as you recommended, I have cleaned the shit oil out.
Ben commented on it being 1 way, from my understanding you can make it any 'way' you want, by simply changing the cam blocks to suit, as per the instruction card. Same as changing the plate placements to increase or decrease the plate friction.
Still for sale thou, please someone buy it. The more I play around with it, the more tempted I am to use it.

George I'm going to have to pass on the turbo. It looks like mine is fine, so if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Thanks for the pics. $300 is a bargain.
