hi guys i recently met rodney and lost my bottom end due to a stupid mistake.
it was forged but looking at options for rods n pistons for another bottom end car makes 400kw on 32psi of boost and e85 so it would have to be good ive been told cp pistons carillo rods
ive also heard ca18det rods with 4agze pistons but has anyone actually done this and how hard is it.
i also had dramas with head gasket previously apparantly mistu do a genuine mls steel ones? has anyone used these?
the new block is tapped for half inch head studs and using arp mains with acl bearings nitrated crank just stuck on rods n pistons, the last problem arrised due to over boost on the petrol tune and snapped the gudgeon pin out of the pistons it had par rods and arias pistons.
any and all help is much aprreciated

I've got CPs and Spool rods in mine, haven't run the motor yet as they were in there when I bought it. But all research I did before buying it said that CP are great (and popular) and the Spool rods are pulling some big numbers in RB engines and the like and are good value rods.
Of course I can't give any first hand experience yet...

I had cp and spool in my car with no troubles although it had nowhere near the power your making. It was always raced each time I used it and was always good.
I seem to remember the rocket industries book having 93t pistons and rods in it , maybe worth a look .

can recommend K1 rods
http://www.euroexpor...00mb3d-994.html
but DO not recommend the wiseco piston set this same site sells.....centre line gudgeon pin so pistons slap ...really slap!!
they are however strong as Ive put 25psi out of a Big 16g into it on occassion.

Yea I did the Mazda eagle rods and 4agze pistons. You need to machine the skirts of the pistons. The only reason I did it was because I was a tight ass, the whole engine rebuild and turbo upgrade cost me $900 and I ended up making about 420whp on petrol. I wouldn't suggest it as there is good stuff off the shelf now. I did the Evo head studs too.

Hey caged what Mazda rods did you use? And these obviously have the 20mm gudgen pin?
Not keen on those spool rods but if I have to use them I will prefer eagle or carrillo,
Just not keen on squeezing over 30psi through a gtx 3076 on those spool ones

Mazda B6T Eagle rods are what Caged used. Personally if I was ever going to go the built 4G93T route again is go for B16A Eagle rods with custom Wisecos to suit. A 400kW build is not one to try and do cheap.

My Jumby has CP pistons and Argo rods, which are I Beam not H beam like the Spool design.
When using some H beam rods on a 4G93, you have to grind/machine the inside of the block to clear the wide sharp shoulder of the rod.
As for the factory mitsi MLS head gasket, these are the ones >>>
MD322820: 4G93 SOHC Metal Headgasket. (From CM5A shape/CE Series Lancer)
MD322823: CM5A 4G93T Metal Headgasket. (Factory piece in the CM5A GSR, but fits the earlier CD5A too) thicker specification.

B16a eagles and Aries pistons for me. Just ran a slightly thicker gasket as they sit above the deck.
No issues on 30psi on both pump and E85.
I paid $950 for both in 2006 delivered from the US.
