so ive recently sold my car, and it have lifter noise which ive shown through a video etc.
he reckons the engine is knocking and told me that the evo 3 bonnet i have on the car is not road worthy.
is this true?
because im 100% sure its no problem as it came from an evo 3 which is the same chassis as a gsr.

if its a fibre glass one its not allowed but an original one as far as i know is sweet provided theres no major modification to the frame, I'd go some where else, if the trust isn't there neither should your business

i dont know what's its made out of but its alot lighter than the stock gsr bonnet.
also this guy have had a look at the car 3 times and once with his mechanic.
none of the time they seen the car cold start but ive sent a video of it cold start.
so now he reckons it engine knock on cold start and refuse to google "mitsubishi lifter noise"
and trying to cause me trouble after he bought the car.

Unfortunately this is what happens when people buy 2nd hand cars, that's why you put "AS IS" in the receipt to stop them coming back if a problem occurs after purchase.

Tell him to fuck off if he's carrying on like a tool...unless your a car dealer then this is no warranty or returns on a used car.
If hes too retarded to search google for info then its his problem. He should of researched all these things before buying a car.

Oh and I registered my previous 2 GSRs numerous times with an Evo bonnet and never had a word said about it.

If he has been to look 3 times and bought his mechanic along as well. And hasnt picked any problems hot or cold start. Its stiff shit to him.
Even if the engine is fubar, the time for negotiating a sale price has passed.

Good luck to him and good luck to you too.

You should know if it was fiberglass or aluminium, you had the bonnet put on during your ownership of the car. Did it have the underbonnet vents and insulation like the below photo?

Also, caveat emptor.for new buyer.

This is correct in all states in Australia. Basically it's the buyers responsibility to check any monies owing mechanical issues etc before purchase and even if you know something is wrong with it as a seller you are not bound by law to disclose this information. Your only responsibility as a seller is to sell the car with a current safety certificate or roadworthy. If he had a mechanic check it just tell him to fuck off. Hopefully you met him somewhere to show him the car and didn't invite him to your house. check out the legislation on your state govt website and print it out and show it to him if he keeps being a tool. Failing that talk to the cops

has he taken delivery of the car? if not try some lifter quietner or oil stabilizer in, put a stock cc bonnet on, probably cost ya 50 bucks and sell the Evo bonnet for a quick Hundy, if hes taken the car then its on him,

and please dont point him to 4g, he sounds like a muppet

thanks for the replies.
its been 3 days since he had he car. i did not know fibreglass bonnet is illegal, my rwc guy didnt have any problems with anything on the car, i did not try to get a dodgy rwc.
the sell was legit in my part, but he has threaten to come to my house and trade the car back for the cash. ive told him to read up on Fair Trading QLD.
so i think im ok even tho the bonnet wasnt.

all this is probably because he thinks the engine is knocking on cold start.
i said it very normal for early evo's and gsr.
he reckons its not normal because his previous civic of the same year didnt have it. facepalm!

Might be someone on evocoupe that will swap him a glass evo bonnet for a stock gsr one.
Send him there...

Tell the buyer the cash has been spent and there is no way he is getting it back. If he still threatens ( & your intimidated) to come to your house get the cops involved or get a few of your mates to come over when he's coming, and you and them sort the fuckwit out

either way according to VSB 14 all non-intrusion pannels can be replaced with fibreglass or carbon of good quallity, replaced with components from varients of the chassis model or stock modified within guidelines.
all these are owner certifiable.

I'd throw a bag of lifters at him and say these are what's knocking a knock doesn't only present at cold start. If anything it more noticeable at temp. If there is indeed a knock it because he fucked the motor. He sounds like a nob it also sound like he got defected for the hood.

go get some PROMA MBL8 and drop that in...it WILL stop the lifter noises. {can be bought online}

also put his number in the personal ads.... under male escort seeks male clients. Ive found that pisses people off very well.
