go get some PROMA MBL8 and drop that in...it WILL stop the lifter noises. {can be bought online}

also put his number in the personal ads.... under male escort seeks male clients. Ive found that pisses people off very well.

Proma is the goodness mate! Lol. Mate of mine used to import jap cars in nz and sell them on. He swore by the shit to keep engines quiet lol

The way i see it is once buyer has taken the car and left your eyesight who knows what he/she has done to it/with it ?

I can buy a brand new car to only return it to the yard and tell them engine is knocking, spluttering and blowing smoke. (Just going to forget to mension that i added a sprinkle of bush sand to the oil and bashed it on the rev limiter while doing burnouts). ... You see where im heading with this ? ;)

I bet this kid has bit off more than he can chew, got a loan, got your car and realised that loan repayments are a bitch... So to try get money back he is making up bs.
Or if he really was worried about the sound he can do the following:
- Go and file a complaint about his "mechanic" who couldn't spot what he now is complaining about.
- Buy a brand new car which will not have any weird sounds.

Ffs, some people are simply stoopid and have no common sence/life experience........ i mean comparing it to his civic...... ;) Oh yeh?!

Those lifters are fucked but!!! Oh well his problem now. Tell the muppet to try a different grade oil. Penrite 5w60 fully synthetic can help reduce the noise somewhat. But really he should just put new ones in and stop crying.Hey tell him welcome to performance car ownership and maintenance. If he's left threatening messages or texts make sure u keep them if u need to see the 5o

yea the lifters are noisy but after leaving them for 5mins to warm before driving they go away.
had a text saying "just have my money ready, if you dont want to settle this in the fair way"
by "fair way" is him paying his workshop to fix the lifters and me refunding that amount to him.
i really cant be fucked with that after taken so much money off the asking price.
and i dont feel like its my responsibility after he has bought the car and it has been 3 days now.
he could of flogged the fuck out of the car and wants his money back.
this guy is making a big deal out of nothing, its his first turbo car and first mitsubishi and he reckons ive fucked him over.

I'd just call him and ask him what's the real fuking problem here! No warranty is signed like at a dealer , so harden the fuk up and face the realiry.

Should have stuck to a girls car all along than venture out into performance side.

Simply tel him to stop wasting your time.

Yeah I was going to say that even the run of the mill Wynns Stop Lifter Noise, Nulon Lifter-Free etc will quieten down the lifter noise for a few hundred km.
Lifter noise is normal, even for new engines and even newly rebuilt engines. Non Mitsu owners wouldnt know that.

Any mechanic can replace noisy lifters with new ones. Piss easy job.

Stick to your guns and give him nothing...ignore his idiotic demands and if he bothers you read the thread again for your answer.
