Hey Guys,
I'd thought I'd do a rewrite on my build thread on the jummy as my last one doesn't explan much and I was working on two cars at once..
This Beast started life as a 1.5L FWD Weapon.. haha
Few week into owning it I started to modify her, upgraded the front brakes to Evo spec, put in lowering springs and rear leafs.
I then got board of the 1.5L and decided to put in a 4g93P donk, rewired the engine bay loom and swapped out the dash loom and engine loom. Then put on an evo 3 front end. Just didn't have the bonnet at that time
Looked like this,
here is a vid of first start up with the 93P 9no zorst either)
Not long after I had painted it all it decided it would die. Could For the life me work out why, so I thought stuff it rip it all out..
This is where it started to get interesting,
After giving up on my CC coupe (the cursed one) I put everything into the Jumbuck. Everything from an Evo 3 cut was put into it. I had to make a patch loom for the tail lights that took me a weekend to make up
I don't think I need to put pictures up, everyone know what the inside of an Evo looks like.
At this point in time it was still going to be FWD, didn't really have any plans to AWD it,
Shortly after getting it running I upgraded the standard 1.5 pump to a walbro 255lph pump and replaced my coils as they died.
After that I got into a small bingle, nothing serious, but it did hurt my wallet. I had to replace the rad, headlights, cooler and piping, got away with reshaping the reo on the evo 3 bar..
It was now time to hit the drags up..
Got myself a set of semi slicks, then hit up strip. First time out people where looking at me and wondering why im swapping over to semi, they then foud out later that night why..
First night there, best run was a 13.5sec on a stock clutch too
Here are some vid's there are a lot more up there
one is my first run... not so good but has a good burnout
this is my last run which was the 13.532... but I broke out
But the bug had hit, I was down at the motoplex as offen as I could get down there..
This is where plans changed and I was going to convert to AWD, so I would have traction when I needed it,
My best run ever in FWD was a 13.003, I was trying to crack the 12's but the worst thing happened at the time I thought it was just the head gasket, but once I pull it off I found the real problem, I had blown a decent hole into one of the pistons.
So it was time to rebuild,
wiseco forged pistons 8.3:1, 20thou oversized
eagle h beam rods
brian crower valve springs and titanium retainers
brian crower 280/280 cams
acl race bearing (big end and rod)
ARP head and main studs
removed the balance shafts
clean the ports in the head
So I got it running again and started to drive it to my Ex's house half way there the motor stopped, could work out why then I seen oil coming out from under the car, so got it towed back to the shed and once again pulled the head off, and found the problem, the oil pulley nut had come off, melted thro the cover and the timing belt had jumped some teeth, I bent all 16 valves and snap a bolt on the exhaust cam, no idea how that happened.
So this time over sized valves where put in and everything was rebuilt and tested again, and it ran sweet.
Next issue that arose was that fact that some how my rego payment bounced while I was working away, no idea how or what had happened I got home to a letter saying head in the plate. So devo!!
So now it was unlicensed, I filled out the paper work need to get this thing relic'd and engineered all approved I decided I'd AWD it at this time too,
Finally got my hands on a libero gt rear diff, had it sent off to get the gearing changed to 3.909 instead of the 3.545 as I was running the evo box
I had all the mounts cut off and new ones welded on
Also putted up some evo 6 front seats for a good price, and where prefect because they matched my colour scheme
So I started on the AWD'n part of this, started swapping out the tanks, had to cut one mount off to fit in the AWD tank in there, then ordered some coilovers from the states. Once the diff was mounted up go my measurements for the tail shaft and sent it off to VEEM in WA to have it modified,
Pixs of the diff with the coils
And Shaft
and I had a 100mm slip yoke put in aswell
Once that was sorted I started working on my gauge holders
I then started working on my customs rear bar. This is how it turned out after putting in hours of work, but it still needs work to this day..
This is it today as it sits, still needs work and the list get bigger each day
Plans atm are,
Finish my motor off (needed to be stripped again, had a strange noise)
5 stud convo, with brembos
swap the rear leafs to lowering leafs
change FMIC
new oil cooler
will be putting in a fuel cell of some sort
hard lid
new carpet
and this list goes on but there the main things
