So its not a big 16g, just a normal one.
Bang it on and see if you can unscrew the wheel off it. Woo hoo!

Still, its off an manual HSG RVR and will require no other mods to get it to fit, so im stoked :)

no shit ay, so the exh. mani. your using? Is that for a td05? And the dump pipe, is that the same as an evo dump or is it angled the same as a gsr dump which would mean the rvr dump is different to the evo type? Can ya post some pics comparing the 2 when ya get them off, id like to see whats different

I belive so man, this is taken from another thread on this forum about these turbos.

EVO-00X

"There should be 3 rows of numbers cast into the compressor housing above and below the 49178-01300. If the top row has got TD05H-16G6-7 on it then the turbo is off an RVR Hyper Sports Gear R version and has a big16G EVO 3 like compressor wheel and 070 turbine housing. If so, it'll be rated to 380hp like the EVO 3 big 16G. If you can take a look at the compressor wheel see if it looks exactly like a EVO 3 wheel"

Mark from GT Pumps let me take that pic long time ago. In his opinion it was as good as big 16g if not even better snail design. He said he would do few test but I never asked him about it after that.
My opinion driving and tuning hsg manual, turbo is awesome for street use.

Yeh, mines the big 16g as standard.
Mike, even on 1bar you will have fun. Good luck with fitting, should be fairly much straight forward.

Sooooooo I have stared pulling the old tired TD04 out tonight, taking longer then I thought it would so I have abandoned it for the evening and will finish it off tomorrow.

So far have only undone most the manifold to head bolts leaving 4 in place to secure the turbo, have removed intake pipe and various vacuum lines running this way and that. Have taken off the oil and water lines to the turbo.

Next I am going to remove the heat shield and undo the dump pipe bolts. Does anyone know, are they all bolts or is 1 a stud?

Anyways, here some awesome pics.....

Why dont ya just undo it from the front pipe rather than trying to get the dump off the back of the turbo?
Should feel alot better this time round
