1 thermostatic switch (can be found in carby model cc lancers porribly even some autos)
2 a normally open relay
3 some wire capable of around 20A
4 a fuse
find a place to thread the thermostatic switch into (you can get radiators that have a bung for it in them my replacement from red devil had a place for it.)
then run from a constant 12v power (battery positive)
through a fuse down to the fan splice into current wireing do not cut
run a wire from earth (body chassis) and run it to one pin on the thermostatic switch from the other pin go to the relay trigger circuit and then out to switched 12v power (ign switch power live only while ign on)
make another earth and run that from the fan to the triggered circuit on the relay and ground it. and your done
or if you are more comfortable playing inside the loom/under the fuse box
get a thermostatic switch
earth one side and tap into the green wire with black trace in the front/headlight loom
this would be best found under the fuse/relay box but does travel all the way down close to the fan loom plug
and the final way is to find a cc lancer coupe that has the 3 pin radiator fan std in the headlight/front loomand take both halves of the plug to use in your car you will still need the thermostatic switch that will need to be earthed (can use the black wire on the 3 pin plug)
viola you have automated thermo fans independent of ecu

I thought I had a screwed up thermo switch or rad fan I plugged a aus 93t ecu and didn't know the fan doesn't come on alone until my car over heated is there any solution to this besides changing ecu's or constantly driving with aircon on?
As previously suggested..speak to Chris Meek...he will advise you of the best way around this.

you sound like the electrical MacGyver would a e3 ecu fix this? would be easier lolyes. grab a few simple electrical items.

Chuck that in the fan relay spot and all good. Fan runs when keyed on and no changes

Wouldn't that make the car run too cool but?
thermostat takes care of that. it just opens and closes more often

Some important things as already mentioned by the other tuners such as
1. Porting the manifold (GSR )remove the little ring that's there on the manifold. ( I think it's called a fire ring not sure)
2. You need the oil lines customized for the turbo. ( i never connected the water lines and turbo was fine ).
3. Upgrade injectors to evo 3 (510cc).
4. Dump pipe doesn't line up with the gsr exhaust so some customizing there as well ( stock gsr exhaust piping can work no need to upgrade )
5. AFM upgrade to E3
6. Increase fuel pressure depending on your management or piggy back ecu ( I ran a safc neo ,made 200hp and 200tq at 14psi)
7. Oil filter relocator. Or slim filter since the dump pipe is ridiculously close to the filter.
Please note the heat generated by the TD05 turbo dump will damage the air condition compressor in a few months. Since its very close to the compressor. Take out the compressor if you don't use the air con .
Good luck. It's a cheap upgrade but don't push the 93t too much the connecting rods are very weak. Stay below 15psi.
