I think it is more to do with the 1000hp.
If it only had 200hp its probably strong enough to spin to 15k rpm
I think like its all those horses tyed up like a tug of war. Half tied to the cylinder head and the other half tied to the crankshaft... something will give eventually. If not, add more horses
