OK guys, they got their hands on a 4G64 block but it was already bored out to 40 thou over.

Now they are trying to find somebody that stocks pistons for the 4G64 at 40 thou oversize to suit 156mm rod, 22 pin.
Anyone know anyone who might have these parts in stock in Australia somewhere?
Thanks

Hi Gents
I just received this email from Andrew Brilliant, owner of the white Eclipse that is racing at WTAC in Sydney soon.

Hello,

My name is Andrew Brilliant I have an eclipse competing this year in World Time Attack Challenge in Sydney. Sorry for the email out of the blue and in a rush. I got your email address from Tim Zimmer. We are trying to source in an immediate timeline a 6 bolt 2.4 liter block, preferred in Queensland. Do you have or know someone who might have one?

Thank you so much for your time.

In the spirit of competition and helping another Mitsu enthusiast out, Im relaying this out to the Aussie Mitsu community to see if we can assist in their plight

Ive already advised that the only 6-bolt 4G64 engines I know of are from a 1991-1993 4G64 SOHC EFI 8-valve UF Nimbus (as attached pic).
But I know that some of the early 90's Hyundai Sonata came out with the engine as well before the 7-bolt version.

LET'S GET ONTO THIS ASAP AND CALL A FEW WRECKERS FROM YOUR AREA IF YOU HAVE TO.

cheers

Rob

Whats the budget? Also is this the right model? Keen to help

Naa man, that's the 16 valve 7-bolt version of the 4G64 in that :)
The 8-valve version is the pic like I put in the original post.

Cheers boys, Ive passed the info on.
Yeah its the Hyundai Sonata G4CS that's the 6-bolt version of the 4G64 eh?
Sweet. Thanks

Is all about displacement. 2.4> 2.3> 2.2, 2.1, 2L.... different horses for different courses.
Plus if you feel that way inclined you can even make a 2.6 litre out of a 4G64 block ;)

To stroke the 2.0 out to 2.4 you need to go right out on the bores (87-88mm I think) which would make the cylinder walls quite thin.
