Hey All

After a lot of mucking around and to no success i wasn't able to get the Cyclone dash head to start on the engine, So i pulled it off and stuck the 8v 64 head back on Re-wired T.P.S and injectors filled everything up and started first kick, Whoo what a relief. I let it warm up checked for leaks then took it for a test run it didn't seem to go the best but it does need a Dynotune to suit this engine, Hopefully everthing goes well but we will see.

I will let you know how it goes on the dyno next week

All the best

Matt

Hey All

I finally got this thing all back together, I've been working out the idle settings and the load settings so i can drive it around. I feel that it has at least 2 - 3 times the punch already and no where near tuned but we will see how i go ( need to have a play so i know how it works ) . it starts to boost up around 3000 rpm and take off,I will send it for a dyno tune this week and put it back to work straight away then hopefuly stick it to nob heads around sydney

cheers Matt

Hi all

Well i have managed to get a base tune done on this van runs well and temps are good i decided to take it for a spin to work on friday to see how it performs it seemed to do eveything ok till it was time to come home, I got a little excited when a sylvia pulled up beside me and i could see that he wanted to get from the right lane to the left lane for an exit so i decided to see what the van was made, heading up the bradfield freeway on about 4 psi ( not sure of speed got no speedo ) then kept increasing till about 11 psi mission accomplished held sylvia in the right lane was good to someone else spewing they missed there exit. Approx norwest exit i started to here a funny noise so i slowed down to catch a better listen then bang engine stopped i quickly put my clutch in rooled to a stop to find a snapped timing belt, after a few hours on the side of the road my good mate Zoran from Black Track Towing came to rescue me, On sat morning i quickly snuck into my local Auto Parts World and got a new timing belt to hopefuly get this thing going again, Timing belt on and all works well time for a test drive but this time i wanted to see what happened when on full boost and what the boost was set at so at around 80km and 2 psi i stuck my foot into it reaching a max 0f 17psi and huge clutch slip from 12 psi on so i give it another squirt to 17psi but this time the head gasket let go so now off with the head and another new gasket.

Tuesday its booked in for a final tune so i'd better to get to work

I'll try to get a vid of the dyno for you all to see

Cheers matt

You have a bit of bad luck mate. Wait till you run some good boost and timing, at about 80kph I could load mine on the brake and let rip and it would bounce on the limiter bagging the tyres with van at 45degrees haha best feeling.

Hi all Its been a while but work has had me steched to say the least,

I have finally externated all of the gremlins out of my van and started to hit some smooth sailing. A friend of mine kindly gave the van a quick dyno before i did 3 trips to melbourne and 2 to adelaide towing a enclosed car trailer loaded. I would have to say that this is the best investment i've ever done not only is it fun but towes good weight not a problem. I've kept the boost to 10psi untill i find some better head studs. Any way it made 170hp on 10psi i was happy with that so i left it there. the next thing im going to do is change the diff ratio so it not reving its tits off on freeway runs and that should about do it, any people thats all for me.

Matt
