Hi all, I was at a loss as to what to title this tread, well I'm here now so... Anyway, here are some pics of what I've done to my "piece of R"

My key locks on the doors are not connected, they cannot trigger the central locking even with the key, so some knob will waste a lot of time trying to hammer the shaved screwdriver into them to no avail.
The first pics are of the shortened manual door lock actuator. The reason I shorten and retain them is three fold,
1: To make it impossible to jag with wire

2: To deter "unprofessional" wannabe thieves and by that I mean finding no lock to jag with wire should deter the knuckle draggers from shredding the pumpernickel out of your door rubber.

3: I retain the manual mechanism as an indicator of lock function, it is easy to see at a glance if a door hasn't locked.

The other thing I have done is weld a piece of metal plate to the door, shielding the lock from being picked by the slightly more advanced scumbag when they try to pop the lock by lifting it up with a U shaped wire.

There is a lot more I have done to secure the car, fuel cut, starter relay cut, coil pack earth switch, handbrake lock and 2 ignition switches (one hidden)I am toying with the idea of a decent alarm system to bring insurance premiums down, I'll go for one with door microphones and 2km pager, that will give me plenty of time to choose the size of my special "anti theft bat"

I forgot to mention, there are fail safes in this setup so you can't get locked out if you lose your keys, I'll go into that at a later date if anyone is interested, but I'm sure you're all backing away from the crazy man

Wow Benzo, Don't think anyone is taking that car off you in a hurry. See how the doors window rubber strip goes nasty from the sun. Pop a bit of thinners onto a rag and wipe ;)

LOL, true, but then they have to climb over the broken glass that is stuck all over the window tint. ;)
It's not about making your car unstealable, it's more about making it unappealing or difficult and annoying to get into.
If someone really wants your car they'll pull it onto a flatbed, in that case you'd hope that the insurance is up to date.

The real nasty bits will need some rough love with whatever your choice of weapon, but all the same, still with thinners.

I haven't had reverse gear for 2 years so even if they wanted to take my box of shit, they couldn't push it up the driveway!
