Hi I've just received my water injection kit, im looking to install this kit so its not easily spotted when looking at the engine bay. Can someone whos using W/M injection post up some pictures of their set up please. I would like to see where you mount the pump and tank, also where you mount your nozzle.

Thanks.

Not sure many people go with the chemical intercooling due to E85's ability to handle knock plus the complex setup of water/meth injection, on saying that though cool to see someone going for something different.

I have spent a lot of time setting up a spearco water to air system with hidden reservoir etc., same story here too, it's too much of a faff for most people, good for me because I want a sleeper.

Can the WI kit inject, what sort of pressure does it inject with? Is it possible to conceal it in an upper or front wheel arch?

Post a link to the kit you have so we can see the parts and the size of the system, someone on here must have WI on their car surely.

I went with WI over e85 because it easier for me to get distilled water than e85, also e85 burns 20% faster that 98oct and at the moment my car doesnt last very long even with a full tank of 98. Where as you can increase milage with WI by replacing some of the fuel with the water. And the steam cleaning effect got me very interested

Really interesting. Good quality kit too. ;) It's a good tried and tested alternative if no E85 is available in your area. I only have one option up here, a 25min drive to get to E85

I used to have the same cooling mist kit. I'd advise you to get a fail safe system as well.
I found that the Labonte kit worked well and provided peace of mind under boost.
I ran a 50/50 mix of Methanol and water myself and I hid the pump vey low on the front frame rail.
At first I mounted the water tank in the boot but found that there was a small lag between hitting boost and the system pressurising and injecting. From there I bit the bullet and moved it into the bay. You could just use a Hyundai washer bottle with the extended neck and hid the tan that way.
As far as increasing fuel economy goes, I wouldn't be expecting any noticeable gains as the water injection is only operating under boost generally. Otherwise you will find yourself filling the water tank on a very regular basis.

I sold mine a couple of years back to Aldo on here when I moved to E85. I only swapped as there was more of a safety factor for me at big boost with the E85 over win as far as the tune went.

How much time do you spend in a parking lot with your performance car? If you do a lot of parking lot driving, and hang out in parking lots, chances are you are a ricer, go home and read import tuner. If you’re complaining about noise you should not be modifying your car. You should also consider no longer being a man, please hand in your genitals at the door.

25mins, by the time you get home 1/4 tank gone aha.

Thanks for the advice brivr4 gonna head to the wreckers for that hyundai washer bottle, looks like you can hide it and have only the neck sticking out. If WI turns out to be too much hassle, maybe i should just go with the haltech p1000 and get the eflex sensor to run both fuel.

Iv used it on 4gs before and on an ls1 impala we run the cooling mist on straight meth and the car has run on pump 98 and e85 with no intercooler. Dont expect cool iat if you run no cooler but it makes great power with hot iats.

Yea ill be running stock evo3 cooler with the WI. Someone did a dyno graph on an sti forum, they lost about 20hp and alot of torque running just WI vs cooler and WI. I was interested in pics of the kit installed and how people has hide it. Nothing turn me on more than a clean/tucked engine bay :P

Examples of fail safe systems guys?

Josh, I didn't know you could run it pre-turbo? I thought there was a danger of hydro-lock as the intercooler acted as a condensor.

I've never used water injection, but have always been interested.
