hey guys I have a cordia with a 4g63t vr4 motor in it and since I change oil its been leaking from the turbo drain at the flange on the turbo so I changed gaskets to find that its yet again its leaking now this is the 3rd gasket. what could cause this I have replaced the hose and fitting and 3 gaskets. I inspected it today and it seems the oil is half way up the return pipe fitting in the sump but its on the full notch on the dipstick yet it still leaks so I droped some oil now its on the halfway mark and no more leak is this normal or is there another issue maybe? im out of ideas on what to replace on it

please help

Cake some 3bond on all surfaces,  would be my suggestion mate. That shit seals anything.

the two surfaces might not be completely flat, is it a stock turbo/drain combo? tried using some oil resistant gasket silicone?

they are a bastard thing , mine leaked constantly used all kids of sealant and gaskets. It now has a alloy fitting coming off the turbo and one on the sump with -12 an fittings and push o oil hose.

the sealant used is some sort of stick tar like aeromotive shit. This seems to have worked for awhile now

3bond is an oil resitant gasket maker. Also the reason I suggested caking it on was to alleviate the issue of one of the surfaces not being 100% flat.

The factory oil return are a prick of a thing...GTPumps sell a good aftermarket one which are much better.

I have a similar setup to Crocket too... big alloy fittings on sump and turbo. 3bond on all surfaces..

No leaks on mine!

It also helps to use the factory bolt washers too. They seal the threads and stop weaps.

Thats about the best i can do mate , the 2 returns are fairly different in internal size and wieght too . I think the black one is oem and the other is stainless aftermarket. The other pick was just a remidy for the ribs splitting. I would suugest looking for a fitting to bolt to the sump and get a braided stainless line made from turbo to that. Just replace the whole lot using new bolts , washers and sealant and it should be fine.

seems to me that you might have the wrong dip stick.    if there is oil in that pipe and the stick just reads full .....something is wrong

I had a constant battle with a leaky oil return as well, the answer for me was unfortunately to just buy all new OEM parts. I purchased a new OEM oil return, OEM oil return line gaskets, OEM bolts, and washers. Apparently the flanges had warped over time and we tried to get them flat with a fine file but it didn't work. I would be cautious about applying threebond liberally over the gaskets as you can easily put too much on and it will choke the flow of the oil return when you tighten the return line. Good luck.
