Glen and i picked up our gsr galant yesterday and after only 24 hours of ownership almost all interior is gone and nearly engine out !!

Not bad progress for us both having babies and wives aswell hahaha

We will be fitting a fresh vr4 4g63t , possible 20thou over if bores need attention the head is already fairly fresh.

China spec 20g turbo on tubular manifold running n/a intake manifold , usual cooler upgrades and the that.

Eprom ecu with osterich , 055 maf , ill be making up custom 3 inch dump/screamer and exhaust all as one piece using only one 3 inch muffler.

We hope to see 300+ at the front wheels and even more later on down the track with e85 and 30psi , all in good time our main aim is to have it as light as

possible and running in 8 weeks ready to run at antilag racewars.

We will both be updating here with pics and progress.

Honestly the stock ggsr box won't stand up for. very long. I'd go with Brian on this one. Alternatively I spose u could maybe get vr4 internals into a ggsr case and tighten up bearing pre loads. To get vr4 box in requires a little panel beating on the fire wall.

My 20c on fwd drag suspension.
Rear std height & as stiff as can be.
Front very low, soft springs, reverse the seals inside the struts to make it hard to expand up.
This will "nearly stop" your front lifting & wondering in 1st & 2nd.
I had a street ggsr awd auto locked as lsd fwd. I didn't have reversed seals for street tho.
Cheers

we will have 2 gsr boxes that im thinking we will run locked diffs in for drags for the time being , and build the w5m for track.

Im currently on the hunt for a magna 5 speed box also,it cant be a bad thing to have plenty of spares.

we also have almost 3 sets of suspension to run too , so a track set and drag set would be good.

More progress tonight , engine is out now time for glen to work his wiring magic and remove the body harness leaving only the essentials for the track .

Such as wipers , hazard , indicators and lights.

Then I will be removing all under dash crap , heater and such after that ill be pressure washing it and preparing it for satin black and fitting vr4 front bumper and side skirts.

Dont know how your funds are, but a possible decent box for use on your project

http://www.evocoupe.....php?f=3&t=8160

Already fwd locked, has cusco lsd and the taller gsr gearing will suit race wars.

Next budget build update....

We decided on a 2.3l stroker as we can't resist ( and we like displacement :D )

Getting forged rods/pistons for the build.....

Maybe a gt35R for the drags or we might see what the 20G can do on E85. Just need bigger injectors on the cheap. We also have long term plans for RWD galant GSR --- drifting or something. Just beam axel and north / south the motor.

Found that the spare rear coilovers from my 3000gt will fit with a different bush in the bottom. Got some VR4 struts for the front!

Little update , the car is completely stripped now , ive test fitted the seats some mods will be required !!!

I made a custom shifter using the gsr base and a proton shifter seems to be shorter than the gsr item.

I fitted the 255 waly today.

Glen has almost completed the full rewire of the car stripping a ridiculous amount of weight from it !!!

Glen had the 4g64 crank reground its now 10 thou over , he will be ordering all engine parts this week.

Ill be having some bushes machined up to fit the gto d2 coilovers fitted to the rear.

Once the wiring harness has been completed the dash will be installed and the wiring in of the cluster , rsm , avcr , wideband and oil pressure guage. We are also going to run an ignition/start switch panel to get ride of the steering lock and ignition.

Ill post pics of it soon , also some piss taking pics of it slammed with no rear suspension just for a laugh.
