Would the above cams kill the car without a tune?
The car has the basic mods:
Stock td04 turbo (waiting to bolt on an evo 7 turbo and 2.5 exhaust)
2 inch exhaust
Hks rs intake and pod filter
Evo 8 bov
Pwr w2a setup
Thanks
Wae.

The maf will allow for it. Extra boost will hit the fuel cut but other than that it should allow for it.

thanks for parts and help: BMGTZ, EVOCPE, cwolf, Benozi, Jamo-GSR, 1JUM2NV, RXVII..much appreciated, cheers guys.

the short answer is yes if they are pretty mild lift but a bit depends a bit on the lift and the lobe seperation angle you set.

I dont see any performance gains, but thats ok till you put the turbo and other bits on.
Thats a bit of lift for std springs. Hope someone knows if they will bind on coils

I thought 11mm lift was a bit of an ask for std springs, most cam suppliers recommend a spring upgrade. May as well do it while the cams are out imo

11mm lift is too much for stock springs for sure,

It would depend on how many Ks the engine has done. It does state that they will work with stock springs, but in the experience of many, 11mm is stretching the boundaries even for new stockies
If you get some spring bind and/or float, you can say goodbye to horsepower at the top end, not to mention the risk of valve damage if they bind too much.
If it were me, I'd pick up some new springs to be safe. The cams are well priced, so a new set of springs shouldn't break budget.
Old springs are about as much use as a one legged cat trying to bury a turd on a frozen lake
New springs = Peace of mind and cheap insurance against valve damage.

Wae...springs can be done without removing the head. 10.5 has always been my limit on stock springs and whilst the manufacturer says it works.....he isnt going to pay for a blown engine.

Brian, the method you're referring to is it using a compressor to compress air into the cylinder to keep the valves still.
What springs/retainers do you suggest to go along with the above cams?

if you have someone good with ecuflash you could tune your car. I have all files for RVR X3 to tune.

BC springs will do the job. if you want to spend the extra as insurance for later then some double springs would give a bit more protection from harmonics at high revs. I refer to "later" as I think the bottom end is stock? thus has a lower rev limit based on piston speed in feet per second on stock pistons than forged pistons.
yes iwas refering to a compressor....but rope does a good job too

Copy the bin from ecu and send it to me so I can see if it's same as the one I have and I'll send back the xml for it.
Cheers
