so i was driving my car all morning parked up at home went to start it couple hours later and it wouldn't turn over just clicks

-4g93p engine with standard proton harness non siemans engine should be the same as a 4g93t

ok so it just clicks once.. the fuel pump is working ive checked fuses and relays there all fine ive taken out the starter motor tested solenoid and the starter separate still works

checked the battery its fine tried a new battery still nothing

ive put a gsr turbo comp in it to see if itll crank still nothing

i pulled out a spark coil put a screw driver next to it turned it over it gets no spark .. should it get spark still or should the starter motor kick then it shoots a spark?

ive changed the coil packs and a coil... still nothing

ive clutch started it and its foot to the floor big effort for it to turn over once it does its very shakey it struggles ...is that just burning the excess fuel from trying to start it so many time or is that signs of the problem even though its efi?... then it runs fine ive taken it around the corner booted it it all runs fine

once i park it turn it off it doesn't turn back on

when i turn the key the lights dont dim so i assume the alternator is fine

could it be  the start motor has shit it even though it worked wired to the battery its still to weak to turn over?

i need some expert advice or should i just burn it to the floor lol any past experiences with this or advice would be appreciated thanks in advance

so the engine is cranking over? if not you have a starter issue/power supply issue i'd be chcking you earth from the gearbox bell-housing to the chassis/battery and the positive power supply (the chunky one to the starter. if it's not cranking those two are your likely culprits. either that or you have a sticking starter solenoid/low battery cranking amps

Ive run new ground and position wire and remote trigger wire from the crank to by press to the ignition still nothing

So it's normal that the coils are not sparking to the screw driver?

Check the plugs on ur ecu. Better still, if u have access to a spare ecu then swap over and try kicking it over. Sounds like an intermittent fault due to a dry solder, stuffed connection or plug not in properly, or heat. Good luck.

i checked the connections they seem fine all clusters and radio working i unplugged the comp and swapped it to the turbo gsr comp i had running in the car previously and it still didnt kick over its like constantly on reds but wont crank

open to try any suggestions, other things ive tried include:

 -kicking the car

 -shouting/swearing at it

 -hitting it with a hammer

-smacking it with a breaker bar

all seem to have failed and not have positive result

G'day.

IMHO you have a stuck starter solenoid.

http://en.wikipedia....tarter_solenoid

Says it all..

Sometimes a gentle bump with a hammer will loosen it. I know it is difficult to get a hammer in there.

Best option is take the starter to an auto electrician.

Cheers

My GSR had a relay on it when I got it that seemed stupid. It was wired between the starter motor solenoid and the ignition, can't remember exactly what went where. Anyways, I fucked it off because when I looked at what it did, it seemed stupid but I then encountered exactly what your discribing. The starter just clicked once and that was it, I could push start it no worries but it would never start on the starter motor if it was hot. The relay circuit is piss easy to make so if you want I can draw a quick diagram of how mine is wired up and for the sake of $20 at supa spastic autos you could try it. It sounds dumb, but I went through exactly what you are talking about and this simple relay circuit seemed to make all the difference, so proberly worth a shot.

As Jamo has suggested I'm pissed right now, but in the morning I will draw a quick picture of mine and post it up for you. Give it a go if you want.

do me a favour and get a video because what your describing sound like a stuck statermotor if the crank is not rotating it wont have spark.

so get us a vid of a turn key event and we can go from there

Sorry I don't know how to upload a video but ill describe as best as I can
First thing is I have tested the starter motor out of the car it runs no issues both starter and soloid

Ok so I turn the key the fuel pump wines and the starter clicks and nothing happens

Feels like the starter engages but it isn't powerful enough to make it turn....
(But it was running out of the car)
. and I've used different wiring to make the starter turn on from outside the car and clicks the click sounds like the bendix turning and hitting the fly then getting stuck

I am trying the best I can to narrow it down before throwing money at it

Lmao evo-gsr a beer and pray it turns on in the morning is the best idea

Cheapest starter I've found is 50bucks but I don't want to buy yet

image-15.jpg

Geo&kez in the photo that I have wired the starter to the ignition terminal straight to the battery ( this is the exact wiring I've done to the starter motor that's connected to the box) the photo is jst a spare
Anyway in theory this should bypass the relays and turning the key but it still doesn't crank over

have you tried jumper leads to another battery ?....will highlight a dud battery

have you tried running a jumper lead from the battery neg to a spot on the engine?.....will highlight a week earth

have you tried running a jumper lead from the battery positive to the main terminal of the starter.....highlights a bad connection in the existing lead

also try dancing around the car naked with feathers glued to your arse and a chicken claw in each hand while chanting kill the motherfucker.....does nothing for car but your neigbhours will never bother you again

do the lights on the dash dim when you turn the key?

it's starting to sound alot like the battery has no amperes in it but plenty of voltage probably a few dead cells

Do you have an aftermarket alarm with an immobiliser? Try push stating it and if it runs it's obviously starter related.

Update

image-16.jpg

image-17.jpg

I couldn't be fkd going under the car this whole time but last yet Going off what bmgtz said I double grounded and double powered resulting in losing half a forearm and 2knuckles

With the backyard 2 year old rusted starter motor with a family of red backs it started turning but the battery's dead so didn't turn on... and narrowed it down to just being the power cable being shit

How high gauge can you get to run the positive side would 8 gauge be sufficient ? Or is that to small
Where can you get cheap cable from in sydney area on a sunday? Supercheap auto only have 8 gauge same as autobahn and jay car

Thanks everyone again

Or your battery is shit and loses voltage as soon as you crank the car over

Try throwing another battery in
