Hey guys, I am just trying to work out if my cams are stock or not. They are stamped 274 and 273 and the only I have found says something about a 272 FFWD-DKS camshafts.

On a side note my engine is back together, all I am waiting on is the exedy HD clutch to turn up and it should be right to go.

Unless your car does lopes hard at idle,I think those numbers are just part numbers.

Cams of that size are very noticeable.

Get your verniers out and measure the lift. Subtract base circle from lobe height. Multiply by rocker ratio of 1.7.
If you get 10.5mm or more they are aftermarket cams.

Duration is next... pick a valve that is closed, rotate engine by hand until lobe is just touching the roller on the rocker. Mark the cam gear aligning it with something. Rotate engine by hand opening valve then closing it. Rotate it till roller on rocker comes just free. Mark cam gear again. Get a protractor and measure the degree difference in marks and subtract it from 360. Thats your duration. Your accuracy must be pretty spot on to do this as you need to be less than 5º accurate or you will not get any worthwhile results.
If you have a dial indicator. You can do both measurements at same time.
Good luck

If you dont have a protractor, you can calculate degrees of seperation from the arc length and gear diameter.
