Duration is next... pick a valve that is closed, rotate engine by hand until lobe is just touching the roller on the rocker. Mark the cam gear aligning it with something. Rotate engine by hand opening valve then closing it. Rotate it till roller on rocker comes just free. Mark cam gear again. Get a protractor and measure the degree difference in marks and subtract it from 360. Thats your duration. Your accuracy must be pretty spot on to do this as you need to be less than 5º accurate or you will not get any worthwhile results.
If you have a dial indicator. You can do both measurements at same time.

If you dont have a protractor, you can calculate degrees of seperation from the arc length and gear diameter.
