Hello everyone,

My name is Alex. I'm from Southern California in America. Just posted my Evo IX MR project that is pretty much complete for me other than a few minor built on's and a new E85 Tune. This thread is my current project that I am working on. It was and still is a real eye sore to look at but I am hoping that one day it will look as good and as close to the real thing as possible.

Let me start off by saying you guys are lucky. You get to enjoy some of the older models that Mitsubishi Offered during the 90's that are absolutely beautiful. While you guys have things like this:

And we got stuck with this ugly economy box vehicle in its place lol:

Haha but not this guy. As ugly as mine is I am trying to convert it over to looking like the beautiful piece of art that you guys get. Below is my current progress on my 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage to a 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR Clone. It is currently sitting right now as I got engaged to my 3 year girlfriend and have to save for the wedding this year (October 11, 2014) but after that I should be able to get to finishing at least the outside of the vehicle. I still need to make some adjustments to the body panels so they fit a little snugger and cleaner but without further delay here is my rough looking Mitsubishi Mirage/Evo V Clone

No Offence taken. I think it looks like Shit I agree haha It is def. a Diamond in the rough. Once the motor and weld work is done i'll feel more comfortable painting it and not damaging the paint. I am going to paint it the same as my avatar one minus the Philippines license plate lol. This car has had a rough journey in its life and I am hoping with this being my first project I can make it a true Diamond of a vehicle. When I got it the owners priorities were way out of wack and def. needs some attention. The guy already had Evo V Front Fenders (So he could do some stupid Lower stance thing but at least it had Evo parts already) Coil over sleeves(eBay coilovers Real Cheap and shitty), it had been in a front end collinsion where the subframe was bent and I should of looked closer to see the frame rail was bent in and had a hole in it (Would of made it a salavage title car but never was reported. I fixed it already and straightin the frame rail out again :)). All 4 struts are blown, The air bag on the passenger side and computer were never replaced after the accident (I have since done this so the SRS light is out and all air bags work again :)). So it has been neglated and beat up but I am slowly bringing it back to life and hopefully one day to greatness :)

It is a ton of work to do. Def. a project that's for sure. As mentioned you cannot import the vehicle in the states until it is 25 years old and falls under a "Kit Car" law and registration. The 1989 Nissan Skyline just became available if I remember correctly this year. I don't want to have to wait until 2022 for the car to be legal to import. Not to mention who knows how many will be left by then. Plus I want it to have America Parts (Evo VIII or IX Motor) so they are easier to modifiy and replace if need be rather than a JDM evo V motor. Plus California is a Smog crazy state and I couldn't own the vehicle with its original motor :(

Not allowed to import until 25 years old in the states, yeah?

Correct
