How old are they? I think $400 might be a bit steep for second handies, not criticizing, just an observation to help you shift them.

No probs mate ;-) $300 is a good price for drop in cams, BC 272s are fairly well mannered too.

Certainly got cogs turning in my head. What would be the eta on them?

They're not practial at low rpm at low speed. For example I'm crusing at 60kph. 5th gear is almost unusable. I'm usually in 4th and sometimes have to drop to 3rd to build acceleration but then it becomes jerky cause the rpm jumps to high. Driving in car parks/rolling at low speed 2nd gear isn't efficient to accelerate so you drop to 1st. I'm consistently driving with clutch engaged and switching between 1st and 2nd.

I just sometimes find it hard to find a smooth gear to cruise in.

You can try out the lancer, so you know what I mean. Could just be my setup though.

My 290's are similar (4g93), you tend to get a bit of rocking at low speeds but it hasn't taken me long to get used to them.
They are definitely friendlier when driving hard.
It's all worth it for the power increase and the awesome idle IMO

no offence meant here to anyone that has these and disagrees.........but in my experience BC 272 are about as tame as you can be after a cam change if the cam is actually going to make a difference to power and torque.

Have you had them adjusted with your gears, or are they straight up? Usually a bit of proper adjustment can get them quite well mannered.

No dyno tune as of yet. But I have adjusted them to get more timing on higher rpm with ecmlink.

Are you talking about valve timing or ignition timing?

Mine were well behaved in the straight up position on stock sprockets.
