Hey guys!

So it's been a while between visits, life has been it's usual hectic and chaotic self.

Upgrades have finally started on the RVR, getting the EXEDY stage 2 kit and race fly wheel put in as I type this, in preparation for some big horsepowah!

This was first on the list as the old one finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. The kit was also cheap <$850

While the clutch is getting put in some niggling suspension issues are getting sorted, as is the rich running.

Exhaust will be next as a bloke who comes into work is in need of work and the hack job on there is terrible.

After that it's saving time to get the head done and sneak an aftermarket ecu in. the guide seals are starting to leak I think, thanks to the white smoke leaking out under idle after it's warm, new valves, springs, guides, lifters and cams.

After that I'll be poor hahaha

I'll keep you all up to date on the build, little bit by little bit.clutch_zpsa0a60c5e.jpg

I would concur with the valve stem seals

Still love the RVR but am paranoid about little noises

Sooooooo... Picked up the car from the mechanics tonight...

He had to fix a few things on the car that came up as the clutch was being changed, most noticeably was a crack that had spread and nearly broken off the lhs front suspension mounts. We knew about it but it was only an inch, he had a look and discovered that inch was now seven + and creeping...So got that fixed, and lesson learnt, weld cracks up straight away!

The running rich all the time has been traced to a coolant temp sensor, does anyone know what the replacement part would be???? We searched high and low and could not find a part.

Radiator cap had the spring missing so it was useless and the engine boost cut/fuel cut is coming in a bit early so EBC is being fitting asap to hopefully take over the duties.

Onto the clutch... WOW FREAKING WOW, that clutch is awesome! Feels slightly heavier than stock but not much, my wife got in, gave it a little bit of rev and she was off mp stalls, super bitey and with the flywheel it's hitting peak boost much faster :)

If you are thinking about a good performance clutch I would seriously look at the exedy stage 1 and stage 2 kits.

Next on the list is the exhaust, then lifters and cams, valve stem seals, then ecu and a better turbo. My boss at work just put a 20g built for his car and WOW that thing is ballistic now.

Excited to be driving it and punching it around corners applying throttle and feeling it pull through the corner now rather than wallow, ahhhh awd is awesome!

http://www.yoyoparts...tml#interchange

The one I have brand new in box is a Standard Motor Products TS337
Bought from Rock Auto in USA and not needed after testing the one in the RVR.

Its the one going from the thermostat housing back to the manifold i think

Nice work! Check the wires going to all of the plugs on the thermostat housing... they can sometimes break off

So another update, life has been hectic and the weather has sucked so getting a saturday when the weather is clear and i'm not working has been rare.

But finally today it happened!

Got this killer kit P1180123_zps0d410304.jpg from work to track down those pesky boost and vacuum leaks.

It has all these fittings and you fit the compressorP1180124_zps39353e93.jpg to the regulator and voosh, open close, charge the systemP1180125_zps432fe068.jpg to recommended PSI ( I did 20psi for now )then listen.

Found 3 leaks so far, first was turbo inlet pipe, it had a rubber inner that had been folded over and was causing a poor seal so rectified that.

The other two were pains! First one was the Idle control sensor, a little bit of soapy water and BOOM bubbles coming right out from the middle of ICS!P1180119_zpsfe10fc1f.jpg

Couldnt get a good picture but it was frothing like crazy, good thing today was replacement day, replaced it and no more leaks and a beautifully idling car finally!

P1180127_zps8473f362.jpg

P1180128_zps66dca0a5.jpg

The second was from a screw thingy in the throttle body, haven't addressed that one yet as my wife needed the car.

Even had a helper today,P1180129_zpsa2238793.jpg she was super stoked to find out I was working on the car, she came running out and was into it straight away!

So next will be fixing the throttle body leak and replacing the brake pads all around, then custom exhaust, get the head done and fit some big cams, bigger turbo and ecu.

Slowly eating this elephant!

Hey guys, anyone know that this code is? I think it's 24 Vehicle Speed Sensor Fault?

Another update, I started to change out the brake pads today after again another free glorious saturday.

So I went to put the pads in and discovered that the pads were too short..about 25mm short.

I ordered the correct ones for this car, according to EBC but it would appear that they are incorrect.

The only markings on the calipers were below, can anyone ID them? I've tried searching online and on the forum but the closest I can find is a 3000gt auto...

Twin piston RVR turbo calipers, came stock on turbo models I believe. I had single pots on mine due to being N/A, but I sourced some twins for the front.

I'd say you have got the single pot pads, probably the same part number as a nimbus. I'll have a look in the Shed of the Damned tomorrow if you haven't had time to take a pad off. ;)

Db1223 is the part number for evo twin pot pads dunno if theyre the same but pretty sure they are, look identical to magna twin pots which are the same as evo 123 calipers minus the fitting line,
what number did you get, 1249?

Thanks guys, these are the pads I got. I took the pads off but the back plate is rooted, the red coating melted and has gone everywhere and it's impossible to read the id stamp.

I might just have to go with the Bendix equivalents and keep these for the rear as they are the right size.
