Ok guys an girls I have done all the required searches an can't find what I'm after.

I'm looking to upgrade the exhaust on my bog stock auto ssg.

Now I know in general 3" is the way to go but I live in a unit complex an would rather not piss my neighbours off to much. So getting to my question does anyone have a video of a 3" on a stock auto rvr an how loud is it?

On a bog stock RVR 3" would be too big you still need some back pressure to keep the flow rate correct, 3" you will pop and fart on decel Look at 2-2.5" with a sports muffler(s), cat and resonator should not be overly loud and give a improvement on stock unless you are planning to do other works in the future...

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Put one of the hsv bimodal mufflers on it. They pretty cheap 2nd hand on ebay. Not sure of in/out dimensions tho.

Turbo engines do not need any "back pressure". The more flowing exhaust, the better! The only downside with 3" exhaust is that it will be louder than a comparable 2.5" exhaust.

older series HSV Bimodal were: 2.25" ID in and twin 2.25" out... They aren't great for flow in single form... x2 though works fairly well...

A properly design 3" exhaust, can still pass EPA standards..

+1 Leon.
My 89 Galant had a 3inch and went better for it. I had very little in the way of pops and farts and was actually reasonable quiet. Mind you, I wasn't living in a complex at the time though.
If the cost of a 3inch wasn't so prohibitive I would have done it again for the RVR, but I'm not going too extreme on the engine front anyway.

I've got 3" on my SSG. Yeah it's pops a little on decel but meh...no big deal. I kinda like the sound of it anyways. Exhaust has been on for 5yrs without issues.
