VR4 Aluminum Radiators

Anyway back to my question, while I was working on the harness I was looking at the radiator fan and thinking that theirs stuff all room between the fan and turbo intake. So what I want to do is change the fan to a slim style and also upgrade to a aluminum radiator.
What setup are people running out their and what would you recommend?

When you run a alloy rad, it's actually thicker then stock unit. So the fan will get closer to your turbo, but the plastic thermo fan will help with space.

The alloy radiators tend to suit Evo 3 etc, but fit fine with a little bit of fiddling. They are very cheap, and as Jayrome found, they are thicker... but work fine still with an aftermarket slimline thermo fan.

You should make me a rad like your mate so it sits under rad support sooo much more room , wish i was as handy with the welder as your are !!!

I was working on the Galant today redoing the engine harness due to the wires being brittle and some plugs were damaged. I've ended up cutting the harness off from the firewall, put a plug on and redone the section of harness that runs over the intake to all the injectors/CAS/TCS etc I'll post some pics if I finish it tomorrow.

I intend on doing the same thing. Where did you go to buy those 4-way rectangle connectors for the CAS/TPS? Are there any other special plugs that you need when doing this? I already have the quick release EV-1 injector connectors. What about the temp sensor connector that is screwed into the thermostat housing?

I intend on replacing all of my crusty old wiring as well.
Btw yeah unless you delete the AC the benefit of slimline thermo is kinda outweighed by the thickness of the alloy radiators like these ^ guys are saying. I think with a decent slimline fan you might end up ~ 10-20mm better off overall.

Here's some pictures of what I have done, I've decided to run all the wires for the engine through the one but kept the exhaust temp wires separate in its own harness. Still need to neater it up once I get the engine back together.
Back to the radiators, I might invest in a slim line fan for my standard radiator for now and do some research into alloy rads.

If you look around wreckers, you can get stock Mitsu fans that can be slimmer then an off the shelf "slim line fan"...
Remade this stock fan to fit a CB lancer with a decent size turbo and 50mm Evo1-3 alloy rad. Plenty of space,..
