Recently noticed a row of very small bubbles on the hsg roof going from left to right as opposed to going from front to back. Are they prone to roof rust like cc gsrs etc? If so, Yipee! Means I finally don't have to fix reverse gear!

It's not rust! The RVR designers knew that at some stage that the fun loving RVR drivers would eventually like a sunroof so they planted itty bitty sunroof seeds before they covered it up with metal.

Mine has it too, transverse across the roof. Chase the rust around, or re-skin. I went with chasing. A wire wheel, penetrol, bog and paint, that will do for a few years till the other sunroof seeds germinate

Ha ha so I guess it is fatal! I was thinking more of a metre or so of gaffa tape, then eventually part it out. I'm assuming once the top of the bubble breaks or is wire brushed, then the actual size of the rust spot underneath would grow? Eg, rust from the inside out. 9inch angle grinder and go topless until I get a defect. That would turn heads!!

Ah, so a reasonably common problem in addition to crankwalk, rear camber, and broken dash vents! Cheers guys.

Had neg rear camber problem when fitted with aftermarket springs. Fixed when fitted the larger diameter rear prings from a nimbus. The roof rust seems to make all the previous repairs look like a waste of friggin time! Oh, and had a closer look today and there are 2 rows of small bubbles!
