Hi guys,

Been following this website for a while now after having my GSR since last September. I've found the information and advice here very useful so I thought it would be a good idea to just sign up and be a member.

I have a 94 Lancer GSR 4g93 with some basic mods. EVO intercooler, highflowed TD04, aftermarket air intake, plumback BOV, extratctors, 3" exhaust, manual boost tap @ 10lbs, rear mounted battery, adjustable shocks, LOW springs with full EVO III kit minus the rear wing.

As I said earlier, I've had her since September last year and believe it or not, I bought her as my daily driver to work. All I asked for from the seller was that the engine and gearbox were reliable and to this day she hasn't missed a heartbeat. I had one just like her back in NZ and so I knew exactly how reliable and tough these little cars were.

I enjoy fishing around the forums to see where I can get a little info on what I could do here and there on her but at the end of the day, she'll always be my daily runner to work. So reliability is my utmost priority. I'm up for getting a bit more power from her so I'm looking forward to hearing from everyones advice.

Cheers guys

I wrote this long essay about the differences but then I thought...whatever. I only say it's been highflowed because the previous owner said so. I cant be sure if it has been but I'll take his word for it. My GSR back home wasn't boosted, but it had a gizzmo chip in it. Performance was more so an overall engine improvement. This one has standard ECU but is boosted a little via a manual tap in the engine bay. I get a little more pull out of it but as I said earlier, how am I to really know if it has been highflowed? He said it has TD05 internals and to be honest I just have a really, really basic understanding of how it all works (which is why I'm here?) He said it had EVO injectors on it, but I had another mechanic look at it a month ago and he said they were just standard GSR ones? I'm pretty much going to treat it from here on in as a stock engine with the mods listed above because I can physically see them. I will post pics tomorrow...

hmmmm im fairly new here to but from what i understand is that you need and evo ecu to run evo injectors unless you standard one has a modded chip, also i could be wrong on this too but the td05 internals wouldnt fit in the td04 casing?

hopefully someone will correct me if im wrong?

anyway even if its stock they are pretty good car, mine is completely stock apart from evo intercooler and it keeps me happy  :)

cant wait to see the pics

Welcome mate, lots of Aussies use the old "highflow turbo" line!

What part of Melbourne are you in? Should join us on a cruise one day

Hey guys,

Thanks for the welcome! Im in the process of organising a paid account as Im using my facebook login which doesnt allow me to upload pics. I've emailed the support person so hopefully I can close this account and open a proper, paid one using the same username.

I'm out Werribee ways in Melbourne and out here I've only seen one GSR/EVO conversion in the 3 years I've been here. Very rare indeed which is why I get lots of looks out here.

I've seen how you can buy internals for turbos online to upgrade or repair your turbos but I hear what your saying about TD05 internals not fitting into a TD04. Bit of a size difference if you ask me, but what do I know? I'm just a humble 4G93 owner with little knowledge other than knowing its a good car to drive..lol

Welcome to the forums! Congrats on the purchase!

To be honest if she's your daily driver and reliability is of the utmost priority... then try to do as little as possible... focus on maintaining the car. There's plenty of old gear on the car that could do with some updating... suspension wise. The roads out here aren't very forgiving with all the road works happening. You can save up for a conversion at a later stage...

Man... you've only seen one?!? Really?!? LOL! Then again... if it ain't a holden or a ford, you're bound to get looks regardless!

Good luck with it all and have fun sorting through the forums!

Yeah I hear ya on the suspension thing. These roads out here are killing my suspension and tyres! Once the taxman makes his generous deposit into my account this week I'm overhauling my brakes and tyres and I'll seriously have a look at replacing the mounts and bushes while were there. Good advice from everyone. Cheers guys!

And #TrueStory on the 1 evo/gsr out here a part from mine. All late models around here, and no old schoolers. Evo 1-6 are virtually non-existent!

Was that a white one you saw in the area? Lol!

There's a couple of GSR's in Point Cook area and an Evo V driving around Tarneit... (Anyone from here?)

Love the interior too btw! Envious!
