Hi again.
I've tried to search about this but found nothing. Anyway. When I'm driving holding my speed, not moving the go pedal at all. So holding revs and speed. There is a loud squeal, almost like worn breaks. It will squeal until I move the accelerator up or down. Even just the smallest amount. It happens in every gear. It's very annoying!!
Any advice would be great?

Is it more like an 'air' squeal or a belt tensioner 'bearings dying' squeal?

I think more like an air leak. I don't think it's the belts. They were adjusted a few weeks ago. And it's been doing it for ages. It's like a high pitch whistle.

I've never heard a belt tensioner bearings. So don't know about them.

I would be checking manifold bolts and where the turbo bolts to manifold...had this issue once before.
make a boost leak tester which will cost less than $10 (google it) and you will find it easily.

also check your drive shaft for tell tale signs of rubbing mine squeaqing atm cause the cat keeps hitting it!

I have the same issue in my rvr. it sounds Lik a air squeal

Ok boost leek. It's happening when not boosting. Like in 4th doing 60 on flat road not accelerating or slowing down.

just build the tester...use it...if its a leak of any sort...you will find it.
If not it eliminates that from the list...then you can move on to other things!

Boost leak test it is. I found a few vids about it. I'll try and make one, and see if the old mans air compressor still works.

off boost wont be a ...boost leak.  also it is unusual for a vacuum leak to squeal. Both can be found with a boost leak tester...which I happen to have.

 

Belts slip under engine acceleration...not when revs are held. just because some one checked them and they are tight doesnt mean they wont squeal. get a bar of soap and rub it on the belt where it touches the pulley as it is going round

 

can you make it do it when the car is stationary?.....that would eliminate a rubbing tailshaft and also make it easier to find

 

here is one from left field...do you have a boost guage in cab?  yes....then check the vac/ boost line isnt split
